TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

Thanks for the info ambrekai,

Yes i've actually applied to another nursing program, but for the ADN program. I applied to Lee college and they told me I should be hearing an anwser by Aug. 13th. Although, my top and main choice is to go to TWU if I get the yes from Lee college I think im going to take it. Their program would start now in the fall...I'm curious though if anyone might know.. If I was to start the prgm at Lee and then got accepted to TWU would I be penalized for getting out of a nursing program and going over to another one? Honestly, at this point I just want to get accepted someone. I honestly dont have anymore classes to take other than patho, but I just dont want to not go to school for a semester.

Also b/c I'm currently working 40+hrs a week and attending summer school it has been difficult to be able to schedule for the teas test. I found a date that actually fit my schedule on the PSI website, and now that I recently checked that date was gone. Does anyone know if it would be okay to take the test in a different city, without having issues w/ sending grades over?

I just joined the forum and am applying to the TWU Dallas Campus for Spring 2013. I just took the TEAS today and I can't sleep because I want to know what I made! I hate that we have to wait for our scores. For those of you who have already taken it, did it really take the full 48 hours before your score was posted?

Mine actually showed up the next day! :) As soon as you get an email that they've sent the transcript to TWU, your score will be posted on the ATI website.

Welcome to the thread!! Let us know how you did on your TEAS. Have you already applied to the nursing program?

I'm not sure if you'd be penalized or not...I think that would be up to Lee College. You should call the school and find out! I don't know that the actual nursing coursework that you'd be completing this semester at Lee College would transfer over to TWU though. You will probably have to start all over again with those courses (fundamentals, assessment, etc.)

I don't think taking the TEAS in a different city matters at all. As long as they know which university to send the transcript to, there shouldn't be a problem. I live in the DFW area, and there are SO many different cities that I could've taken the TEAS in that surround Dallas and Ft. Worth. I actually ended up taking it in Arlington, and it got to TWU just fine.

Good luck!! :D

Yes, I've already applied to the program. I completed the application about a week ago, I think. Waiting for the scores is not fun. Lol. Hopefully I'll get it by the end of the day!

Waiting for the score was so agonizing! I cleaned and organized my office the entire day I was waiting, lol. Hope you get it by tonight too!

That sucks that you all are having to wait for your scores. As soon as I left the testing room the proctor gave me back my ID and then handed me a print out of my scores and said that I did really well. Still not sure how I feel about him looking at my scores though.

See, I thought they were supposed to give you your scores right after the test but all they gave me was my ID and a print out that said "You have now completed the TEAS V exam. After 48 business hours of completing the exam, your score will be posted to your ATI account." I was like "I don't get my score now?" And they said No. So I'm still waiting...I was hoping my score would be posted today but it's still not up yet so it'll probably be tomorrow. :/

Thanks for all your help ambrekai,

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see what they say. Hopefully its not something they penalize you for though. & about the teas exam, I know it would be cutting it short to take it on 8/30, but do you think it's possible? I've looked for other dates, and non fit my schedule.. its either 8/27,8/28,8/29 all those are dates that fall semster classes start :(

& just to confirm? you can apply to the nursing program before actually taking the teas test?

You can apply before you take the test but your scores have to be submitted before the application deadline. I'd say the 30th is cutting it a little close because technically it can take up to two days to send your score. I took the test yesterday and just now got my score, like it just posted right now (I've been checking it all day.)

Oh, and I got a 96!!! I'm so happy! :D
