I'm very excited for January to come around. Has anybody received their new student packet yet? I'm dying to get more details about orientation, signing up for classes, etc. Also, has anybody downloaded the required software we're going to need for clinicals? We're supposed to have a PDA or smartphone with the software. And one more question. I've requested to join the facebook group for our class. UTMB SON Class of Spring 2014, right? How long is the turnaround to be accepted into the group? I just sent my request yesterday but I'm anxious to read the wall posts. On another note, did anybody apply to UTHSC? I've read a ton of posts on that thread but nobody mentions having applied to UTMB. I haven't heard back from UTHSC but when I received my acceptance letter from UTMB, the deadline to accept was Oct. 5th. I had to accept, even though I hadn't heard back from UT. Were any of you in this same situation? Lucky for me, UTMB was my first choice. Looking forward to your comments! Hi peller! I applied to UTHSC as well. They will send the rest of the letters out by mid November.

I was referring to TWU - they can, yes. If you call the school of nursing, they will tell you. I don't think UTMB will. To those of you who area accepted - a few questions! Has anybody created a facebook page yet? What are our options housing wise? I'll be moving from Dallas, so I know almost nothing about the area!

How did you know if you were wait listed for twuDidn't receive an acceptance letter.

Don't be negative - you have a good shot! 13 is awesome! We have already seen a couple people say they will decline on here. Keep an eye out for more of those. If I were 13, I would be pretty confident I'd get in. Congrats on that!

I agree - it makes no sense to me as a first degree seeker either. Discouraging. But good for you. I probably won't apply again. I got into UTMB, and still waiting to hear from UTHSC-Houston (but not very confident about them, critical thinking score wasn't great on the HESI). So I'm not sure what I'll do. Who knows. Not something I want to think about right now. Good luck to you - stay positive.

Believe me, I agree. I spoke to my friend in the program and she says they really value the first attempts and the bachelors. The TEAS is apparently the least weighted. I guess the bachelor's thing makes sense coming from a business view point - you show that you can commit and complete a program (meaning they won't have to worry about losing your money).

I think they weight having a previous degree pretty heavily as well. And I agree about the bumps. Which makes me feel like reapplying would just be a waste of my time. I did. I got into UTMB in Galveston, and still waiting to hear back from UTHSC-Houston. I was really passionate about TWU, but at this moment, I'm kind of bitter towards it. Call the Denton campus and ask to be directed to the SON. Ask to speak to Cheryl. Good luck.

Hey everyone. I just called the SON and asked if I could find out where I stand on the wait list. I feel nauseated. "You're about 50 down...sometimes we take a few, but I can't imagine it going that far down. This semester was way more competitive than last. I'm sorry, hon." I feel so rejected. Guess I wasn't good enough. So I guess that's it... Anyways, here were my stats: TEAS - 86 Pre-req GPA - 3.79 2/4 first attempts (other two were B's) No previous bachelor's No TWU bump Congrats to everybody that got in, and good luck to those of you that are waiting. Hey everybody! Been a while since I posted. Congrats to everyone that has been accepted, good luck to those on the wait list, and stay positive, those who received rejection letters. Persistence is key. I believe I was wait listed at TWU Dallas - my first choice (since I live in Dallas), so I know how those of you on the wait list are feeling right now. It's nerve wrecking - almost more miserable than waiting to hear back at all. We just need to stay positive and say our prayers! If I do get into TWU, I will be giving up my spot at UTMB - so don't worry, spots will open up! UTHSC-Houston also hasn't released all their acceptances, so people will be giving up spots left and right once they hear back from their closest/first choice school. To those of you that have been accepted - so far, all I have received is a request for proof of my meningitis vaccine, due November 1st. Is that all we have had to do so far? EDIT: Well. Looks like I probably won't be getting into TWU. I'm about 50 down on the wait list.

Oh my god. My nerves were bad before. But now I think in going to implode.
