Hello!
I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?
After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.
So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!
Hi everyone! I've been reading the posts and seems like there's a lot of new faces. Thought I'd say hi! It's been awhile since I've posted anything. Summers been crazy and I'm so excited that I have one more final to take today. I have yet to take my TEAS. It's scheduled for the 22nd of this month. Eke! Nervous. Is everyone ready for patho?! The book is a bit intimidating. :/I will drop back in later. Just wanted to drop in and say hi (again) to everyone and hope everyone is enjoying their summer. :)
Good luck on your TEAS!
@ heyjude91 you are a rock star!!!! Thank you so much for looking up the syllabus. I do have MacArthur in Dallas. Guess what I'll be doing on my 7 days off????? Chapter 14 and 15.
I will only have one week to prepare for the TEAS, but it is what it is.

You'll do fine! I barely studied honestly. I had next to no time because of my work schedule and the maymester class I took. I literally fell asleep 45 minutes into studying every night for the two weeks before my exam, and I ended up doing okay. I crammed my practice tests in the morning of the test. Ugh! Don't do that!!! Haha good luck to you, I am sure you will do great!
Hey guys,
I've been reading over all the discussions & I have to say they are extremely helpful. I finally decided to join. I too plan on taking my teas v test. Haven't yet registered for it, since i'm a bit confused on how to do that... Idk if i need to pay the $110 through the ATI website and then go over to PSI and register with them, or how that goes? Can anyone explain.
A little info about myself.
I plan to apply to the Houston Campus for spring 2013
Currently taking my last pre-req- College algebra
GPA 3.6 ( not all that awesome)
Any tips on what I should study over for the Teas test, only going to have a week free from school to study
Yeah I took the TEAS at the end of last month and made a 92!! All I used to study was the ATI book and the practice tests. Read the book from cover to cover, and study what you miss on the practice tests! :) Also the online practice tests were really helpful for me too, but they're kinda expensive at $37 apiece. But they were harder than the real test so I was glad I bought them; they prepared me well. Keep an eye on the timer! I almost ran out of time on two of the sections. 2 wks should definitely give you enough time to prepare. That's about how much time I truly devoted to studying...if that. The nursing department will not get your recent transcripts themselves, unless you took the classes at TWU. You will have to send them your most recent transcripts!
Wow! Congrats on that score of yours! That's great. You shouldn't have a problem getting into the program. =) Now the pressure is on...=/ I hope to make something in the 90's but we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the advice! I think I'll dish out the $37 for the online practice tests. I'll spend however much I have to in order to help me with this TEAS test. I hope these up coming two weeks will help me. I don't want to take any chances. Congrats on your score again! I'm jealous...wish I had taken my test already and I would be worry free...sort of because then we'll all have this waiting game we all will be playing till November.
I'm a current student at TWU so they can just request it? As a matter of fact, I think I'll email the adviser tomorrow and see what I should be doing after the official end of this semester.
@ shelly188 I followed the directions from TWU website. Here is a link with all of the directions in pdf format:
Entrance Exam - TWU College of Nursing - Texas Woman's University

Welcome, Shelly!
As far as registering for the TEAS test...yes, you have to pay the $110 at the ATI website. They will then send you an email that has an order confirmation number in it, and after 24 hours, you take that confirmation number to the PSI website and register with them (pick out a time a location, etc.) It WILL NOT let you register before 24 hours has past though...believe me, I tried. Reading the link that kmlnielsen left will definitely show you what to do!
Are you applying to more than one nursing school in Houston? Just curious, because I'm pretty sure College Algebra isn't a required pre-req for TWU's nursing program. But I wish you the best of luck as you finish up with that! :)

Thank you! Yes it's VERY nice to be done with it and (relatively) worry-free until November. But before you know it, you will be too! The deadline is fast approaching, and then we'll ALL be in the same place of waiting & worrying!
I didn't know you were already a current student at TWU! No, you don't have to do anything with your transcripts then. They'll already be updated in student records when the nursing school admissions coordinators pull them up. You're good to go!

And we send the transcripts to just TWU in Denton. Not the nursing department. Right?
