TWU Fall 2010

Published

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?

I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

Greetings! I know most of you are very busy with finals and wrapping up the semester, so if anyone has a minute to respond feel free. If not, I def. understand.

I'm just wondering:

How many of you are working while at TWU? How many thought you could keep your job then figured out differently? For those who do work, what do you do and how do you manage the two?

Thanks

I thought I could work the weekends only, and that was pretty tough for me. So, I ended up only working one day a week and next semester I'm only working once a month. I work in retail (at a pharmacy) and I thought that on the weekends when I would get off I could study. Yeah, right. I was too tired by the time I got home to even read anything for school. My pharmacist and I even thought I could study at work in between customers. That didn't work so good either. We are just too busy with school to work. Besides, I'd rather do school work than work at my job :yeah:

Does anyone know if you can bring lvn to rn @ twu???

I think they only have an associate RN to BSN program. You could probably just enter the traditional BSN track.

Of the few people that kept their job BEFORE school started, I know of about 5 that have quit completely and another handful that just work one day a week. As for me, I put in my 2 week notice as soon as I got my acceptance letter. I don't regret it!!! My job took too much of my brain juice! Even though I had a flexible schedule, the time taken away from my studies just wasn't worth it.

Yes, I understand that. Well, how have you managed to cover living expenses?

lol. that's funny, but i find the same to be true for me. I'm so HAPPY now being a FT student. But, I'm concerned with how to make it w/o any income. What do you do to make ends meet?

While researching my options, I read on the TWU site that there is an ADN to MSN for those ADN nurses with also a BA or BS in another major. I didn't see any LVN transition program at Houston. idk about Dallas.

The only way I'm surviving is with loans AND I my fiance is really, really, helping me out. If I didn't have him, honestly, I don't know what I would do. I would probably ask for more loans (which is probably what I will have to do next semester). We'll be able to pay them back when done with school! (gotta think positive) :D

I survive on loans, scholarships, and my savings from my previous job. I moved in with my mom who refuses to accept rent from me. Everybody's situation is different and you will find your own way when the time comes :)

 I have an idea!

Why don't we do a lunch "happy hour" after the concepts exam? It's over at 11:00...seems silly to wait all day...
