TWU Fall 2010

Published

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Fall of 2010? I got this idea from a previous thread and thought I should get one started for this semester, so that we can help each other and communicate with each other?

I have taken the Hesi-A2 and got a 74.8 on it so they didn't even look at my application. I live on campus so any help or information I can give just let me know. I'm excited and feel good about this deadline.

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

These slides are AWFUL! Not even an ounce of formatting... I have a really hard time figuring out what text goes with what heading or if it's another heading all together.

Greetings! I know most of you are very busy with finals and wrapping up the semester, so if anyone has a minute to respond feel free. If not, I def. understand.

I'm just wondering:

How many of you are working while at TWU? How many thought you could keep your job then figured out differently? For those who do work, what do you do and how do you manage the two?

Thanks

I kept my part-time job as a tutor. Since I set my own schedule, I pretty much never went. I never had time. For a while, I would try to go one day a week when I didn't have any classes, but then when clinicals started, I had to take the day off to do my care plan. I know one person that had to quit their job. She worked nights and weekends, but it became too much. I know another person who has a flexible job, and so far she's doing alright.

Moral of the story, you'll probably have to quit unless you're a super multi-tasker. I'm lucky if I can get to work for three hours a week...just not worth it.

Of the few people that kept their job BEFORE school started, I know of about 5 that have quit completely and another handful that just work one day a week. As for me, I put in my 2 week notice as soon as I got my acceptance letter. I don't regret it!!! My job took too much of my brain juice! Even though I had a flexible schedule, the time taken away from my studies just wasn't worth it.

lol Yeah. I feel ya. It's cute how we have many things in common. I tutor as well, privately and for the college. I set my own schedule at the college and the other is an elem student, 2hr a week. It's not much, but for me it keeps me feeling not so needy. Like at least I can put gas in my own car and contribute to the groceries. How do you manage?

Hey can anyone give me the actual books you're using? I'm having a very hard time finding a book list.

I've called TWU, they don't even have it yet! I've looked on line for MAtthew's, it's all confusing, I'm getting upset. My scholarship depends on this info. If I don't get it, I lose my $$.

I will try to find our old lists. The books may be different. The faculty may change. When is the deadline for this information? Doesn't the scholarship committee know that booklists aren't available two months ahead of time?

haha. you mean until 2 WEEKS before?? Well, I think they understand that profs are busy and generally wait until the last minute to get in their booklists, but thee still need an idea of how much money to allocate for each student. I tried to just get your list from the school and was shot down, b/c technically I'm not enrolled. So until I've been "advised" I'm not privy to that kind of top-secret information. OMG, really?! I mean, what am I going to do, sell the info on the internet?:mad: Anyway, thanks Txcatcher I appreciate your help.

Hey! Good luck on finals! You can do it!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

It is best that you contact the professor for the book list. There might be a new professor or a different list that they want to use. Looking at our old list might not be accurate. Email the professors.

Why are our teachers out to make us fail? This is B period S period.

I can't believe they would fail you for this class because of stupid stuff like capillary refill. B period S period.

(I haven't gone yet, but not looking forward to it.)
