Hi everyone! I am hoping to get a thread started for future Texas Woman’s University nursing students. I have been finishing up my pre requisites and planning to apply for fall nights and weekends. I would love to hear from other potential nursing students hoping to get into the TWU fall 2023 cohort.

My nursingcas GPA has all my classes that I have taken before calculated in it including perquisites and others that were not for my nursing degree. Does twu only use the prerequisites needed to calculate GPA or all classes including the ones not needed?
TWU only looks at the GPA for their required science pre reqs and required general pre reqs.

When you start clinicals, you will have those on the Weekends, so you need to make sure that you are free Saturdays and Sundays. If you haven't taken Patho by the time you are accepted, usually that will be an online course (but can be different now not sure). Hope this helped you all. Good luck! TWU is an amazing school ?
Hi! Thanks for this note! I am applying to TWU's upper division and have pretty good stats --- overall score is 63. As I consider applying for the N&W program vs. the traditional program, I wondered a few things about the N&W program:
1. How many Saturdays and Sundays each term have clinicals? I have seen Saturday from 7-3, and every other Sunday from 7-12, only during term times (so you get a break between each semester/term). Is that accurate?
2. Do you have in-person class every Tuesday and Thursday during term? I have read that some semesters you only have in-person class one night a week.
3. How many classes are online?
4. Pathophysiology - I'm debating taking it this Spring, or waiting to the Fall, since I'll be applying to financial aid for the Fall and can roll it in to a loan then vs paying for it now. However, I don't want to overwhelm myself next Fall if I don't have to. How feasible is the schedule for J1 if you have to take Patho with everything else?
Thank you for any insight you can give!

Also I believe just science and mandatory nursing pre reqs. I sure hope so because 18-22 year old me made some baaaaad decisions when it came to school. Now 37 and shaking my head at her.
I feel that! I took college classes in high school and now it's coming to haunt me!

NursingCAS- (617) 612-2880
There's a couple prompts to get you to the right person. They were very helpful.

Shortly after applying I received an email to create my pioneer portal and was able to log into the applicant section of TWU's WebAdvisor. You can see your admission status there. I received a letter in the mail about 2 or 3 weeks after the decision was posted in WebAdvisor.

Have you submitted the application fee and all your transcripts? How long ago did you submit those. I know they don't review your application until everything is received. Also is this your first time applying to twu. That might contribute to the amount of time they're taking. I would say check your webadvisor portal. They usually have all your information there and sometimes don't even sent acceptance notifications until way after your accepted.
I actually still haven't gotten any official notification that I've been accepted as a student and I submitted the twu application on December 12th. On January 5th, I emailed the office of admissions processing to ask if they'd received all my transcripts and gently notify them that I had a deadline I had to meet for the nursingcas app that I was worried about. They answered 1 hour later stating they had all the transcripts and had now "removed the hold". I'm not quite sure what that meant exactly, but the next day I checked in the twu portal and my admission status had changed to accepted and I then had student access everywhere.
I would recommend emailing the OAP email address to confirm that they have everything they need and check your webadviser portal.
