Hi everyone! I am hoping to get a thread started for future Texas Woman’s University nursing students. I have been finishing up my pre requisites and planning to apply for fall nights and weekends. I would love to hear from other potential nursing students hoping to get into the TWU fall 2023 cohort.
Hello I am wanting to apply for TWU BSN program for Fall 2023, but I barely found out about the program. I am yet to turn in my NursingCas application, do yall think it is too late to apply? I know the deadline is February 1st. How long did it take for the NursingCas to be reviewed and accepted?
Thank you :)

Did you already apply to TWU? If so, no it's not too late to apply. I'm not even submitting my NursingCAS application until the 24th. Technically you have until 1159pm on 2/1! Your transcripts however should be submitted immediately since that's what can take awhile, though you can submit your application before nursing CAS gets the transcripts. If you haven't applied to TWU yet, you're cutting it close and not sure that will be doable since you have to be accepted to TWU. Most apply to TWU at least 6 weeks before the NursingCAS deadline. I hope that helps!

As I have some low GPA classes I took from another college and it has been added on NursingCAS, it said on the requirements that the cumulative should be above 3.0, which is fine, my science and pre-re are both 3.8 but the cumulative seems really low in comparison to the others two.
This is what I'm worried about. I don't know if they take cumulative GPA from all the courses or just cumulative GPA from Nursing prerequisites only. Because if they count all the courses I have taken, my cumulative GPA is just 3.75 since I took some Computer Science classes before. But if they only require cumulative GPA from Nursing prerequisites, mine is 3.95. I did contact to ask many times, both TWU and NursingCAS, but they all only gave me the brochure for reference.

I was told they only look at the required classes. So required general GPA and the required nursing pre reqs. It does make me anxious to see my overall GPA from nursingCAS much lower bc of a past degree 10 years ago, but I'm just gonna hold on to what my advisor told me ?

Got this email about nursing entry checklist from twu advisor, maybe pre-re and state core is GPA is more important than cumulative ( as long as it >3.0).

It really depends on the people applying per cycle. I know some with a 3.4 science that got in last cycle and the cycle before that. They were transfers. Don't lose hope. All you can do is apply and see what happens! ❤️
I'm applying for TWU Dallas Campus. In the Question section of NursingCAS application, they ask if I want to go to Houston campus in case Dallas campus is unavailable. Do you think we should choose "Yes" or "No" for this question? I'm scared that if I say yes, they will prioritize other who say "No" first.

I have no idea. Im applying for Dallas as well and chose "no" for that option as im not intended to move, but I think they will consider you for dallas campus first to see if you can get in, then they will move to Houston campus.
