TWU fall 2023 applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I am hoping to get a thread started for future Texas Woman’s University nursing students. I have been finishing up my pre requisites and planning to apply for fall nights and weekends. I would love to hear from other potential nursing students hoping to get into the TWU fall 2023 cohort.

Nursing CAS question: I have transcripts from 5 schools to send to Nursing CAS! Between all these schools, I have 150+ credit hours, most of which are completely irrelevant to TWU's application. In the section called "Transcript Entry", do I have to enter every single class I've taken off of every transcript?! Was hoping I could just do the prerequisites to the program...

It's my understanding you have to enter every single class you have taken regardless if it's relevant to the program or not. I opted to pay NursingCas to enter all my credit hours since I have close to 70 credit hours and it sounded tedious for me to enter each one. Unfortunately for me, I should have waited because they won't enter them until your TEAS scores are uploaded and I don't take my test until 1/19/2023. So I will be cutting it close because it says once you submit your application it could take them up to 10 business days to enter all the hours. If you find out different, can you please post it on this thread please.

Hi,

I took my TEAS exam and got a 84.

Reading: 89.4

Math: 84.4

Science: 74.5

English: 100

Should I retake it to try and get a better score?

I can't say. I heard that 87 is competitive. I scored an 86.7 with a 4.0 GPA and am choosing to not retake it. Going for nights and weekends which I have heard, but not sure, that it is slightly less competitive than traditional. Great job! I am envious of your English score, that was the hardest section for me.

Has anyone else had issues uploading their transcripts to NursingCAS? I sent 5 on December 27th, 4 of them through parchment and 1 from another service. The 4 from parchment still say "Not Arrived" and it is totally nerve-racking!

It's so scary! So when you say parchment, was it through the mail or online? The 2 I sent online through parchment were received within days however the ones I sent through mail have not been received and I'm nervous.  apparently from last cycles, there is a bit of a grace period when the application closes so I'm hoping that helps us but yes it makes me nervous. It does say on nursingCAS it can take up to 4-5 weeks for them to process and verify but wah! Haha.

They were sent electronically. If I had known it was going to take this long I would have sent them the day I began my application. I was dumb and paid for the professional transcript entry thinking they would be here in plenty of time. I wonder if I should resend them. I like getting things done early and being ahead of the game so this is definitely stressing me out LOL.

Yeah I panicked bc I didn't start my application until December 29 haha and I saw up to 4-6 week period for nursing CAS for receiving transcripts, I'm like oh ***.  Yeah I would send again! It doesn't hurt. The ones I had sent electronic, I sent them the 29 and they say received by Jan 3.  So def send again with the transcript ID.  I'm nervous waiting on the mailed ones but assume that'll take longer.  Hate that feeling.  I haven't submitted my application yet bc I'm waiting to take the TEAS one more time on the 24th but hopefully all will be OK.  Good luck! ❤️

I just called NursingCAS and they are looking into it. Hopefully I will have an answer by Monday or I will resend them. Good luck on your TEAS!

Have y'all applied for undergraduate admission and how long did it take y'all to receive a response?

Yes. Just a couple days after they receive your application and transcripts.

Yeah I applied a few months back and they were quick. I also just sent them my final updated transcript and they quickly processed that as well. Hope that helps.
