TWU fall 2023 applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I am hoping to get a thread started for future Texas Woman’s University nursing students. I have been finishing up my pre requisites and planning to apply for fall nights and weekends. I would love to hear from other potential nursing students hoping to get into the TWU fall 2023 cohort.

I saw on last years thread that the website said October 15th but the actual date was November 15th. So we shall see.

Did it ever show up? I’m going to start working on mine on Thursday hopefully.

I just logged in to nursingCAS and I can see it! Thanks for checking. I’m excited to get this application started!

Me too! Good luck! I take my TEAS in 11 days. So anxious. I wonder what the cut off scores will be for transfer students

I am currently finishing up a statistics class, but does anyone know how late we can take the TEAS before application deadline?! I’m super super stressed about taking it and feeling super unprepared.

I believe any time up until February 1st. As long as you have enough time to get your TEAS report and upload it to nursing cas. Not sure the turn around time.

Let me know how your testing goes and any tips you recommend! I hope your test goes well!

I took my TEAS today. Scored an 86.7, I can’t decide if I should retake it or keep the score. Has anyone heard anything on cutoffs?

@MaryEY_1785 Responding on this thread, since it's current for this application cycle. I used a spreadsheet that TWU advisors gave me last Spring to calculate my points, but mine is already customized to my transfer credits and info. Someone posted that a score of 42 was needed for nights and weekends. With your stats (TEAS in the high 80s and a 4.0), I think you should have a score of at least 50, and more like 58 if you get the bump for prior bachelors degree -- and even higher if you have credit hours from TWU (not sure how many you'd need). I probably would not retake the TEAS if I was in your shoes!

Thanks! I sure hope so, I don’t want to pay for the exam or take it again if I don’t have to! I don’t have a prior bachelors or any classes taken at TWU

Hey guys I am also applying for the fall.  FYI they don’t use that excel sheet anymore, they do a more “holistic” application approach and use a different guide when calculating scores and deciding and it’s not public to us.  That’s what my advisor said.  I had a few friends that are transfer students from Dallas College and got in with a 3.8 science GPA and 85 on TEAS.  It all depends really on the group of students applying though.  Good luck everyone!! ?

Hey ya'll.  I am currently in the WEP at TWU.  Someone asked earlier about what the schedule looks like.  You will have class Tuesdays & Thursdays from 17:30-20:30.  When you start clinicals, you will have those on the Weekends, so you need to make sure that you are free Saturdays and Sundays.  If you haven't taken Patho by the time you are accepted, usually that will be an online course (but can be different now not sure).  Hope this helped you all.  Good luck!  TWU is an amazing school ?
