TWU Dallas Fall 2014 Applicants

Published

This is for students applying to TWU Dallas for Fall 2014 :)

Hey guys! I noticed that there wasn't a Fall 2014 page yet... Probably because its not for another year but I thought I would start one!

I'm currently attending North Central Texas College and I'm about to start my last semester of required prereqs, and I'm taking a CNA class this fall!

I've attended an open house at TWU Denton & Dallas; I absolutely love the campus and the staff seems so friendly! I'm really excited to attend TWU. Hopefully I'll be in Dallas for the nursing program, but if life does not take me in that direction--I'll make my way for a Physical Therapy degree!

I'm sooo excited to start nursing classes and spend time in the hospitals. I'm on this website all the time and I hope there are some people on here applying the same time as me so we can support each other :-)

Tell me about yourself!

Hi broonie717

Thank you for your advice! I can imagine that you are working with a hectic schedule this semester, but if you do find the time, could you please recommend some professors worth taking?

Thanks again, and congratulations to all! :)

As for your J1 semester, you will not get to choose your professors. Everyone attends the same lectures on monday (assessment) and tuesday (Pharm and concepts). Your clinical instructor is based on your clinical site and your assessment instructor is picked for you. For Patho, as far as I know, there is only one instructor you can take at the Dallas campus. But you can take it at Denton too, or even online if they still offer it. =)

Congrats rodri30 !! I don't know your budget, but living in the "city center" can be pretty expensive if you are looking for a decent place in a decent neighborhood. The nice thing about TWU Dallas is that it is VERY accessible. I live in a suburb north of Dallas and it takes me less than 15 minutes from my door to the parking garage.

Good luck, and once again, congrats ! Can't wait to meet everyone !

Congrats rodri30! Those are certainly impressive stats you have. What was your take on the Ts5 exam?

Thank you Mwalker for the degree plan! That helps immensely! Good to know the clinicals are all day Sat/Sun. Gotta mentally and emotionally prepare the hubby for me being gone /doing something 7 days/week...Ok..so I am trying to register for patho, but the webadvisor deal won't let me even pick a term! Any thoughts?

Congrats Txtri! What days is the lecture patho on? I'm probably going to take it online..but like I said..I gotta figure out how to register first! ;)

And also many thanks to you Broonie717! It is always helpful to have info from the "inside". :)

You will not be able to register yet, they haven't opened it up yet. I think it opens next month but not sure.

My Patho lecture is on Mondays. 830-1230 . The professor gives us a 20 min break around 1030. And she is good about covering everything in less than 4 hrs, so you are hardly ever there up until 1230.

thanks txtri02! I will definitely check out the area north of twu and irving.

I could of done better had I studied more but the preferences and gpa really helped me out.

Hey y'all! I applied to the Dallas location along with Texas A&M (where I am now). I have a 3.68, no bump obviously, 2/4 attempt, and an 81.3% on the Teas. I'm not sure if I'll get into TWU, so I'm crossing my fingers for A&M!

To those accepted into the night a weekend program for this upcoming year, who's going to be working full time?

I plan to work full time. I can't afford to stop working right.
