TWU Dallas Fall 2014 Applicants

Published

This is for students applying to TWU Dallas for Fall 2014 :)

Hey guys! I noticed that there wasn't a Fall 2014 page yet... Probably because its not for another year but I thought I would start one!

I'm currently attending North Central Texas College and I'm about to start my last semester of required prereqs, and I'm taking a CNA class this fall!

I've attended an open house at TWU Denton & Dallas; I absolutely love the campus and the staff seems so friendly! I'm really excited to attend TWU. Hopefully I'll be in Dallas for the nursing program, but if life does not take me in that direction--I'll make my way for a Physical Therapy degree!

I'm sooo excited to start nursing classes and spend time in the hospitals. I'm on this website all the time and I hope there are some people on here applying the same time as me so we can support each other :-)

Tell me about yourself!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.. Ok. Guess I should look and see if I can register. Is there a degree plan somewhere that we can check out? What about graduating students? I feel like they would be the best source of information. I've got an iPad n kindle, but the laptop is ancient...have you signed up for the information meeting? I'm considering it but wasn't sure how necessary it would be. One thing I know is that you never "know" for sure or even know what questions to ask! HA!

aelaine42, here's the link for the weekend program sample degree plan.

Patho is one of the classes in the first semester of the program, so you definitely don't have to take it before. Hope this helps!

Just got accepted into the Night/Weekend Program.

Currently taking Patho now and would highly recommend taking it early if possible.

Stats :

Previous Degree

GPA : 3.75

3/4 1st attempts

78% on TEAS

Congratulations txtri02!!!! Are you taking patho in class or online?

Congrats!! How did you receive the news and when?

taking the lecture Patho.

I found out last Wednesday, by email. Your twu email.

What did the email say? I have received repeated emails with the same message that my application has been resubmitted but nothing saying that I have received a spot or acceptance into the RN program. I have similar stats (3.75gpa, plus bump for hours taken at TWU with a second degree. I had an A in stats, A in Micro Lecture but a B in Lab so I was told I did not get that pref for Micro. Lab was a 89.5 final grade So only 2/4 prefs. and T5 score was only a 73. I'm just hoping I get in this fall weekend program. Right now as I have a FT job so it makes the waiting to hear all consuming. So, I'm going on vacation for spring break with my family and will check my email everyday while waiting. Just wish I could have known for sure either way before I'd left. Happy for all those that we're accepted and know you will all do well in your RN careers. I guess I will just reapply like the rest of those who don't make it in this time around and keep trying.

Just curious about TWU applicants who got accepted on 1st, 2nd,3rd attempts? What changed for you and your application process on each attempt?

accepted to dallas night/ weekend program on my 1st attempt. prior bachelors degree with 4.0 in math and science. 3.91 overall prereq gpa. 4/4 preferences 77 on teas. Planning to relocate to Dallas and transfer from my current job. I'm not from the dfw area. Does anyone know any good areas to live at close to the TWU dallas campus?

Congratulations rodri30!!!!

thanks rlmom!!!

Hi everyone! I am currently a J2 in the traditional program. I would highly recommend taking Patho in the summer or before your first semester of nursing school if at all possible. This class by itself is LOADED with information and as I heard from many of my classmates, it made 1st semester A LOT more stressful that it already is if you have to take Patho. Yes, its 5 weeks of your summer absolutely dedicated to this class, but trust me, you will thank yourself later. The professor is not what I would consider a good professor. She just reads from the notes and adds a story here and there. She is an amazingly smart and brilliant woman, but do not expect her to really help you for the tests. You must read her notes, the book, and powerpoints OVER AND OVER and KNOW THE ABNORMALS. Just wanted to give you advice if anybody is debating on taking Patho before your J1 semester. Good luck to all of you. TWU is an awesome nursing school and your J1 professors are WONDERFUL!
