  1. Jwilson13 My stats are 3.9 GPA, 3/4 first attempts, a 78.7 teas score, and a previous degree. I have 2 kids so not working is not an option right now. Me and my hubby are going to reevaluate the working thing during my second year. Lucky for me I didn't have to take any of my classes over again but I had a lot to take since my major was in accounting. Also since I'm older I had to take some classes that were not required when I went to school the first time. I took my time taking the class so that I could make sure I got good grades. I only took one science class a semester and I didn't do them over the summer since it would be fast paced. With two very active kids I didn't want to miss any thing over the summer. I went to DCCCD so I took a lot of class during Maymester and Wintermest online. That way I could get them over with quickly. Also when I did the science classes I didn't take any other classes with them. Like I said I took it slowly. :-) I have been out of school for awhile so going back was an adjustment. Good luck and let me know how it is going for you.
  2. Thanks so much JWillson13. They only looked at the grades from the pre req class for the GPA. Some of them actually came from my first degree but most of the class I took later.
  3. Congratulation DJV123!!!!
  4. Djv123 did you get in?
  5. Was looking at the TWU Houston thread and they have started posted that they got there acceptance.
  6. I plan to work full time. I can't afford to stop working right.
  7. You will not be able to register yet, they haven't opened it up yet. I think it opens next month but not sure.
  8. Congratulations rodri30!!!!
  9. Congratulations txtri02!!!! Are you taking patho in class or online?
  10. aelaine - I totally understand about the mortgage thing. If I didnt work we might be able to pay the mortgage but we wouldnt have any utilities or food. lol Plus my kids are very active in sports and I dont want them to have to give anything up. We actually travel with them for some things. I have heard that books are hardcover and e-book but I'm not sure how true that is. I have both a laptop and tablet. I plan to put both to use. On my tablet I have an app that I can take handwritten notes in. I plan to try and use that to cut down on paper. We will see how that goes. I do plan to take patho this summer just to get it out of the way. It should make the 1st semester a little less stressfull. Take not that I just said a little less stressfull:) Let me know if you decide to take it. I'm planning on taking it on-line. If I cant I will have to just take it during the regular semester. You dont have to take it right now but it is the only nursing class you can take before you start classes. I also plan to look over my A&P stuff while I wait for classes to start just to keep it fresh in my mind. I would also like to find out what books we need so I can start pricing. It would also be nice to be able to start purchasing a few at a time so it doesnt hit me all at once. We will keep in touch and help each other through this process. And like you said, hopefully we will be in some of the same classes.
  11. I also have a full time job, 2 kids, husband, etc. So I understand how you feel. I sometimes wonder how I will be able to handle it all. I will figure it out some how. I'm just glad I got into the weekend/evening program. Don't know how we would have handled it with the traditional program. Right now I need to continue to work. Don't want my kids to have to get out of what they like to do. It will all be worth it in the end.
  12. Thank you so much. I am looking forward to fall. I was also very surprised we found out so earlier but glad. I was going crazy waiting. We have to have our acceptance letter turned in by the 11th so it would be after that before they start with the traditional program. But I'm not sure when. I wish I had taken patho this semester but with my kids and there busy schedule I just missed the deadline to register. I hope it will not be to hard to keep up with the class during the summer. Good thing is it will be the only class I take. Good luck to you.
  13. I will be taking it online. Since they have the class during the day I can't take it on class. I have to work.
  14. Congratulations MedicNR! I didn't know they opened it to everyone this time. I wanted to do the weekend/evening program because I need to continue to work. I plan to do patho this summer. How about you?
  15. Thank you so much. I am so excited!!! I received an email in my pioneer portal account. The email also stated I would receive a letter in the mail with the same info as the email. This was my first time applying and this is the only school I applied to. My stats are: GPA 3.9 3/4 first time A's TEAS 78.7 Previous degree
