Hello Everyone,
Well I am currently looking to apply to TWU for Spring 2011. I thought it would be nice to start a thread because I am sure we will all need a good support system. The whole application process is so STRESSFUL!
Lets Get It Started!!!
A disadvantage to starting in spring is that we only have one month between orientation and classes to be prepared! ahhhh!A question for the experienced folks out there: Does our watch and stethoscope have to be black, or any specific color?
They can be any color. Make sure to get something to attach to your stethoscope with your name on it.

I believe they always do Orientation one month ahead of the 1st day of classes regardless of when you start (at least that is what they did for Fall 2010. Your best resource for what you need to buy is online in the Handbook instead of waiting for Orientation. Orientation might actually do you guys some good...financial aid, scholarships, blah blah blah. For us, Orientation talked about things they we already took care of on our own. Deadlines had already passed for scholarships and Finacial aid so it didn't really help that much.
As long as your steth is two sided (bell and diaphragm), you are good. It is smarter to have a watch that is metal or plastic in the event that you need to wash it. After your first clinical day, you will have the urge to dip everything in alcohol:eek:
I am trying to decide whether to get a wrist watch like a baby g, that could be easily wiped down with alcohol, or some kind of clip on watch, or something you would just carry in your pocket. Is it annoying to have to deal with your wrist watch when washing your hands so frequently??? I suppose you could also just carry any wrist watch in your pocket if it got in the way. What do you guys think???

A clip on watch or a pocket watch is not gonna work when you are taking vitals.
