Hello Everyone,

Well I am currently looking to apply to TWU for Spring 2011. I thought it would be nice to start a thread because I am sure we will all need a good support system. The whole application process is so STRESSFUL!

I just checked my email and I got an email about Orientation next Friday!

Hey guys!! Just wondering....In the reminder email about Orientation....When they said "Bring Your Checkbooks" Approximately how much money should I expect to bring or spend? Just a thought..

I spent way less than everyone else because I bought all my stuff elsewhere. I signed up for TNSA and got a tshirt...I think that was $25-$35ish. Then I bought patches and name badges, and those are only a few dollars a piece. I think that was it.

Ok seriously folks, I did not rcv a reminder email re: orientation. I'm nervous. Did they change their minds about me??:confused:

Hey gloworm,

They sent the email out last Monday and it was from M.Klien. It just reminded us the date and time the orientation was going to start at.

I would just call TWU and let them know that you were accepted into the program and you haven't received anything about orientation. I'm sure it was just an error on their part.

Aww Misshopeful, I really do feel so silly right now. I now remember all your posts stating that you were in Dallas. I guess when I was catching up on my missed posts I failed to pay attention to who was sending what. Besides, we are all on here for TWU and I often just get confused with who is in Houston and who is in Dallas. I did contact the Houst campus. They prob really think I'm bonkers! I've been harassing them over several different things now for the past few weeks. They were probably like: "WTH is wrong with this girl!?" But...(sigh), someone responded simply saying that there is a parking garage attached to the bldg and that we should be there at 8a. That was all! lol Wow. I'd like to know if we can get our parking validated. Something! You know?:jester:

Hey! but on another note: Does anyone going to Houston campus wanna meet up during the day on Friday?? Wouldn't that be cool? :yeah:

So, I am procrastinating on studying for my Assessment Checkoff by playing on Allnurses. I am so nervous that I want to throw-up:eek:..but after reading the last two posts, I want to cry (happy tears). I am not one for crying which is more reason for me to laugh at myself!!! You guys are great:D

So, for 25 minutes, you get to play Student Doctor!!! Over the semester you have to learn how to assess the entire body, in a particular order, along with vital signs, and patient history. During the checkoff you are given a senario which covers body systems at random that need to be assessed. Everything is from memory!!! You have to assess a live human while being timed. There are certain things during the checkoff that you cannot miss or you automatically fail. If you fail the checkoff after the 2nd attempt, you fail the ENTIRE course. It was just a ton of pressure and too much uncertainty for my little brain to handle. I passed though...I just feed off of procrastination:nono:.
