I can't wait for tomorrow, guess what I get to do? LICE CHECKS! Why? A mother who is a nurse thinks they are necessary. She did offer to do them, but I am not the personality that would allow her to do them alone. The fear has been released, an email was sent and now we are in lice mode. SMH! Meanwhile, my son is almost lice free, I found nymphs (only 6) 10 days post initial treatment, just like I was expecting. Really people, it isn't a big deal!

Your principal isn't swayed by the literature?
As far as doing it yourself, yeah, I would, too.
I would never allow another RN to come into MY HOUSE and take over.
Plus, she's wrong.
Have fun!

Geez...what a waste of time and energy. Maybe you can borrow a hazmat suit from the fire department...show up for the lice screening in that:woot:
Especially after I have been living with them for 3 or more weeks.

ugh... nothing like a little mass hysteria to start out your week. They all really need to read the article. I would not let a parent into my school to do head checks. i don't care if they're a nurse, doctor, judge, or CIA.

That would be a privacy issue as well. Big no on letting a parent come in.

Oh man, you're gonna wait 24 hours to do checks? They're gonna spread all over in the 4 hours left of the school day! Whole classrooms will be contaminated!
I feel for you. That stinks.

And then they'll all go home and the entire community will be infested by tomorrow and this could be the genesis for a lice zombie apocalypse. You better evacuate while you still can!

Why is administration allowing a mom, nurse or not, dictate whether or not you perform mass screenings? Do they allow parents to come in and tell the teachers they feel something is necessary in the classroom?
It's a chronic administrative condition called "Spinal Hypotrophy"
