Confirmation Hearings for the Trump's incredibly bad choices for cabinet leadership positions. Traitors, drunks, rapists, pet killers and television personalities were the first choice of the mentally ill old man.
My Senator, Dan Sullivan is all over his social media singing the praises of these folk so we should expect most of them to be confirmed.
Hegseths hearing should be starting about now.

I don't think it's "beautiful" because as I've said many times left to their own devices big industry is corrupt and takes advantage. Just go back to 2008 when big banks and their "economic freedoms" destroyed the economy and people's lives.

Ah, 2008. The financial crisis caused by Democrats fighting against tighter regulation on Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. That's when I fully transitioned away from supporting any Democrats. And, they've never given me any reason to go back.

Anyway, I'm not in favor of all regulation going away. But, we shouldn't have congress creating agencies who who then go and create their own laws, that congress is responsible for creating. That runs against our constitution, and shields congress from accountability.
Also, In the case of this agency, what they do seems to be largely redundant of what was already happening.

Doesn't tell us much. As my article explains, it seems that much of what this agency does was already being done by other agencies, and many say could and should be done again.
I'm not doing a deep dive on this or know enough to have a strong opinion and will retract somewhat my original comment. Just showing that there is another side and that it's not wise to knee-jerk react without any other info that everything Trump administration does us bad.

You're not alone, apparently the recession fueled the Tea Party, calls for smaller government, and the populist movement and some of what we are seeing today.
But it also the dismal economy got Obama and control of the both houses to the Democrats. Two years later people voted about the economy again. Crazy times.
It also fueled the Occupy movement, remember the "take a shower and get a job" folks?
But the original point was left to their own devices big businesses will take advantage and banks were and are predatory.
I'm glad to hear that you're in favor of the constitution. Not always a concern with some Republicans in power or so it seems.

QuoteCISA spokesperson Tess Hyre declined to comment on the latest round of job cuts affecting the agency and wouldn't say how many employees had been affected. Hyre told TechCrunch that CISA's red team "remains operational" but said the agency is "reviewing all contracts to ensure that they align with the priorities of the new administration.”
It is funny how the priorities of the new administration seem to dovetail so easily with Russian priorities.
QuoteOne of the people affected told TechCrunch that CISA red team employees, who simulate real-world attacks to identify security weaknesses in networks before attackers do, were affected by the DOGE-enforced cuts.
Another person affected by the layoffs, who asked to remain anonymous due to fear of government retaliation, told TechCrunch that laid-off employees also include staffers who worked for CISA's Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT), which is responsible for penetration testing and vulnerability management of networks belonging to U.S. federal government departments and agencies.
"As far as what will happen to those government systems, I have no knowledge,” the person said.
It's ironic that the guy who's company was shut down by a cyber attack is gutting our cybersecurity agency to "save money". Of course, this is the agency that publicly said that Trump definitely lost the election in 2020 and that there was definitely no fraud. Trump didn't like that and he fired the lead guy at the time for saying that.
Musk's AI isn't as helpful as an intern. It might be more dangerous, though.
QuoteAbout 1,500 employees with the government's General Services Administration (GSA) — which manages federal property and most procurement contracts — were given the app to assist with various repetitive chores after a series of deep layoffs. As reported by Wired, agency staff were told they could use the combination of three chatbots to "draft emails, create talking points, summarize text, (and) write code.” Providing AI assistance with that limited yet varied list of tasks is apparently DOGE's next measure after eliminating over 1,000 GSA jobs last month, with hundreds of cuts more still on the way.
But why would someone who just inherited email and text writing work from a few dozen former colleagues also need help with coding?
Because those DOGE layoffs included virtually every member of the GSA's 18F tech hub, whose work to render government sites and apps more efficient had been highly praised inside government and without. Indeed, one of 18F's last projects before its cullings was combining Anthropic's Claude Haiku 3.5, Claude Sonnet 3.5 v2, and Meta Llama 3.2 into the new GSAi chatbot.
I voted. That's what I did to stop this. That was the only thing within my circle of influence to do.
Trump is the smoke and mirrors of single issue voters and social issues to get us peons to argue with each other to distract about what's really going on: the ultrasuperrich getting what they want. Zero taxes, kings of their own personal fiefdoms. Recessions are good things when you have the means to buy the stock market at a deep discount and property can be gobbled up cheaply.
The people cheering all of this on who don't have the foresight to see the problems and suffering that will be created will only care when it touches them personally.
And I hope it touches them really hard. Remember this: we tried to warn you.

So you are basically saying that the voters in the 2024 presidential election that secured the presidency fior Trump who also won the popular vote and flipped all 7 swing states are ignorant and selfish? You hope they suffer because they didn't vote the same way you did?
If what you predict happens and I am "suffering really hard" because I voted for Trump, ill be sure to remember that you "tried to warn" me.
We tried to warn the democrats that insulting, demonizing and defaming everyday normal Republican voters would cost them the 2024 election and the majorities in the government. So I guess I'll say "we warned you". However I would never hope for "suffering " on people who vote differently or do not share my political opinion.

Interesting takeaway because I read the same post and I'm not seeing where the poster was hoping for suffering. But saying that voters might not have seen some of the suffering when they voted for him rings a bit true to me.
They voted for him and their 401Ks are taking a hit.
Some of his voters are worried about losing their Obamacare.
I'm hearing some anecdotal about people that voted for Trump that are now laid off from work and didn't see that coming.
The USDA cut a billion from a food program and the children that benefited might have had parents that voted for him, the farmers that depended on the program that supplied the food might have voted for him.
Importers and exporters aren't happy.
I saw a Trump supporter in education somewhere saying he supported Trump but not in the way it's hurting his school. Highlighting the idea people don't care until it affects them.
Trump voters in North Carolina still suffering from the flooding are regretting their vote because of DOGE cuts to FEMA grants.
Still others that aren't affected by any of this are cheering them on. Others are saying that it's going to have to hurt to heal.
I do want a more efficient government without fraud or waste. I want a booming economy and a good stock market. I don't want anyone to suffer because of Trump or circumstances out of his control.
While all of this is going on Trump did a commercial at the White House for the richest man in the world for Tesla cars. Not a good look.

These are the last 2 paragraphs. What do you think was meant by this?
I am less than thrilled with some of Trump's actions. However they are well covered here in these threads.

Oh boo hoo! Suffering for the people you personally dislike/disapprove of is exactly what you voted for.
Many people in my religion believe that the energy you put out comes back to you three times over. I don't need to wish suffering on you, you did it to yourself.

Apparently the banking industry who fought with the CFPB frequently is not wanting them to go away.
