Took 265 questions, and PASSED!!

Published

:bowingpurHey guys,

I am brand new to posting on this website, but I sure did look it up after I took the NCLEX (June, 2008) with all 265 questions. I was sure I had failed, but after reading some of these forums, I realized that people can actually pass with the entire amount of questions. And I did pass!! I just wanted to give future test takers some hope as well. I guess it is true, that when you walk out of the test, you are going to feel like you failed. I sure did, and I feel as though I guessed at just about all of them, too!! I couldn't beleive it when the test kept going and going. I was so panicked when it got to 200 ,that I could barely think any more. All I can say, is make sure you know which patient to assess first!!:nurse: I did have a couple of math questions (3) but they weren't that hard. Hang in there and have hope. :D

Took my test last tues ended up with 265 too. I did the same thing took one break and just hoped it would STOP, it was torturous with every question. I do not want to pay the quick results because I know i failed so why pay anything to find out I am a failure.

Dear EmilysMom

Girl, do not think that way. I too thought I failed. I absolutely thought with 100% certainty that I failed. But after reading some of these posts, I had a little bit of hope. Even though I really did not know the answers to the questions. Don't wait to find out, just pay the money and get it over with. You are not a failure even if you didn't pass this time. But believe me, you probably passed. Good luck and I hope you get your results soon

Hey Congrats!!!! I have taken it twice & both times got 265. What study material did you use?? Great job on the test!!!!!:yeah:

I used the Hurst Review, also NCLEX RN 3500, it's on the web for free if you google it. I also used Saunders. I'd say the NCLEX 3500 helped the most, because it's over 3000 questions, and it gives rationales for all of the. Plus there are tests so you can see how you are doing. Did you pass with 265?

hi just wanna ask if how many days you waited for the results?

I took my test on a Fri, got the results the next Mon at 9:30pm.

I took all the questions also in July of 2008. I think (I don't remember anymore) I stopped at 260. I did not start to panic going a little past 75 but I did panic when it went over 130. Anyway, I was full as one can be of anxiety from the beginning. I graduated in May of 2008 and have been studying since then! Hope all pays off. It wasn't too much guessing on my part. But I don't know.

Hey - I don't know how to reply to this one. All I can say is I took the test on Thursday the 17th in Staten Island NY. When you go to sit down at the computer, it asks you if you want to quit before even starting question 1...Its up to you whether or not to quit or start the test. I took all 260 (I think it stopped at 260)...I came out of there feeling like I failed with a 0%....The test is HARD so be careful! The NCLEX folks don't play around.

Congratulations on your success with the NCLEX, and welcome to the site! I take my NCLEX this coming Monday, and I can't wait to get in there and see what everyone has been talking about. Do you have a job lined up? Did you take breaks during your exam?

Congratulations calgrlRn,

i took my test on July 2 with 265q and I failed. my thing is that it was hard for me to determine which patient to assess first. i had about 3 math questions and a lot of SATA. any advice for the next time will be helpful.

I am sooooo sorry you did not pass. I suggest doing many questions. If you have saunder cd you can choose what type of question. I would concentrate on priority ones. That is really the only thing you can do to prepare for this. It covers your entire nursing education so there is no special trick. Also what I did was figure out who were the stable pts first then you have the pt you need to see. That is not always easy.

GOOD LUCK hang in there
