Took NCLEX yesterday

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Just wanted to say I took the NCLEX yesterday, and I have no clue as to my results. My computer shut off at 75. I had about 8 OB questions....yipes. Also, I had 2 lyme disease, and a black widow spider bite for crying out loud. I had no cardiac, renal, endocrine or anything that I know. I feel that the test was the most random, weird thing I have ever experienced. Who in the heck studies bug bites for the NCLEX? Also, I feel like the amount of ob I had was more than enough. The others were mostly meds I had NEVER heard of. Even my diabetic questions did not mention insulin, just some weird drugs I did not know. They must have been oral hypoglycemic agents or somethings. Anyway, I just needed to vent.

Thanks for listening.

I don't want to tell how long ago I took the exam(over two decades) I had to laugh at the black widow spider bite. That is so strange. I guess it may occur but I wonder what the statistics are on how many bites reported a year. You probably did great. Try not to worry and good luck.

that's usually it...I would venture that at 75 you either passed or failed at a wide margin. That's the minimum....so think positive and know you passed!

I had a botox question the second time I tested. I thought I failed mostly because of that, but I passed.

MommyJoy, I got one thyroid question. For the most part, no question focused on a body system which is what I mostly studied for the first time around. I got no cardiac, one OB, no psych the second time around. It makes you wonder why you learned this stuff if you weren't going to be tested on it to show that you know what to do. You probably passed.:heartbeat

hi all - I took the NCLEX RN exam in NJ for the second time - went all the way to 265 with a boat load of SATA and infection control, addison's, cushings, AAA, and a whole lot of priority questions. I hope I passed! This is a totally random exam! Please reply with thoughts and prayers, thanks.

Very very true. NCLEX can and will ask you anything. Just stay positive and hope for the best.

Good Luck.:p

Ohh my goodness. I just took my NCLEX today & MommyJoy I was in the same boat. I am not kidding 1/2 of my exam was pharm & just like you said they were drugs I have never heard of. Not only that but I had 20 multiple multiple questions. I hate those. I always seem to miss one. None of the other alternate type questions except multiple/multiples:eek:. 1 OB. 3 peds. Mainly pharm & ethics/legal. Definitely not what I expected. I had 75 questions & it shut off. Most of classmates that had 75 passed but I really don't know I don't think I passed. Pharm other then the main meds is not my strength & I am freaking out. I passed with honors from my program & I probably failed the NCLEX.

Did you take the test on Sept.8th, 2008 in Somerset, NJ? Are you testing for the first time?

Maybe I need a vacation before I sit again for the exam if I failed!

I tested today 9/8 in Albany, NY. I never anticipated that much pharm & not your usual meds or that number of multiple/multiple. BRUTAL.:banghead:

How do you get the computer to shut off at 75 and how did you study for the exam?
