Hi, all!

I took my NCLEX-RN today, and the computer cut off at 75 questions. I came out of there feeling like my head was spinning!:uhoh3:

I got lots of SATAs(which I heard was "a good sign"), and all the questions seemed about on the same level of difficulty to me, so I'm not really sure what to think. I did the "Pearson Vue Trick" about an hour and a half after I took it, and according to that, I passed. Not sure how much faith I hold in that though, lol.

I find out with quick results hopefully Wednesday! I will update!

Class of 2010 graduates, post about your experiences with the NCLEX (RN or PN), and GOOD LUCK to all of you! And most importantly, keep your heads held high when you go in there and PASS!!:yeah:

Congratulations! I will be taking the NCLEX-RN next month....waiting for the school to send off the AFFIDAVIT OF GRADUATION. Any idea of what to focus my studying on? What's SATAs questions?

Well, as everyone's tests are different, it's kind of hard to tell you an area to focus on, but I can give some advice as to what I was told to do by KAPLAN and my instructors at school.

I did the KAPLAN course for a week on-campus and then continued with the questions on my own for about a week afterward. If you're looking for a program to use, I would highly suggest them! The questions are VERY similar to the style you will see on the NCLEX, and the program does a very good job at helping with strategies for answering them. Also, if you truly use all the resources they provide you with(and they can sign into your account and see), there is a money-back guarantee if you don't pass the first time. You've got to really use the program though.

If there is an area you know you are weak in(for me, it was medication classes, other than your obvious antihypertensives and stuff like that), brush up on that. Don't spend a lot of time cramming every fact possible about everything into your brain though. You went to school for years, you know this content! Even if it's deep down in there somewhere, it's there.

This new, "harder test plan" supposedly is geared toward having more management-type questions on it, like delegation, prioritization, assigning patients' rooms, etc. I heard infection control was big, as well, and I had a lot of those questions on mine too. Know who is on what precautions and what those precautions entail.

You will do fine! Just get as much practice as you can answering actual questions before your test date.

Thanks so much! Good luck in your new career and Congrats again!

Congrats!!! I am doing the kaplan course too, and so far its pretty good. I think kaplan helps with answering high level questions. I am a nclex retaker and I hope to pass this time around with kaplan:-). Keep us posting on the official results (according to PVT you passed;-) lol)

Thanks, and good luck to both of you! I will update whenever I "officially" know! Hope I'm not jinxing myself :S lol.

Share your updates, as well, even though I know it will say "pass" for both of you!

Thanks!!! i'll keep you updated as well. I know that you pass. Time to sit back and relax and wait for the result that says pass! I have a quick question, did you is the decision tree that kaplan taught during the exam to answer questions.

Thanks! I have a good feeling for you, as well.

No, I didn't really use the decision tree on my NCLEX. On some of the prioritization questions, I knew to eliminate seeing the patient with pain first because of Maslow's and remembering that pain is psychosocial though. I would still practice it when you review, just because you know never know who will get what kind of questions.

I did all of the Qbank questions, Question Trainers, and NCLEX sample tests that KAPLAN provided and could use the DT on a fair amount of those...so it's possible you could get some like that on boards!

I'm doing Kaplan as well. How much would you say you utilized the content review (book and online videos)?

:yeah:Congratulations:yeah:
