Just read another article on Tommy Chong being jailed for selling Marijuana Paraphenalia on the internet

This strikes me as being exceedingly amusing statement of our society. We jail Tommy Chong for selling bongs and pipes and rolling papers on the internet. Not for selling marijuana!!!!

Now go to your corner 7-11, or your corner market, or just about anywhere that sells tobacco and tobacco products.

You will find pipes, OMG someone might use them to smoke marijuana.

You will find rolling papers. I really dont think there are many stores in America that dont sell Zig Zag rolling papers. But have you ever seen anyone roll their own cigarrettes with rolling papers, not counting John Wayne and Tom Selleck. But yet you find them everywhere.

How many nurses carry hemostats in their pockets. Aka the well known and favored roach clip. Couldnt we all get arrested for paraphenalia possession also.

Now Tommy has been in jail before for drug posession, nothing new there. But I wonder if they got his old comedy partner Cheech who has starred with Don Johnson in a police sitcom to come and arrest him.

I think one of the main reasons for his arrest/conviction is that he was selling synthetic urine and urine devices people could use to fool drug tests (for heavy drug users). I think there was probably pressure from the drug testing companies that something be done since he is so high (pardon the pun ) profile.

I have to agree that this is rediculous and am embarrassed to say that I am from Pittsburgh which is the city that started this action against him.

I remember one year we kept having the clips on our EKGs stolen...I understand they make excellent roach clips. All any store has to do is put a sign up that states 'for tobacco use only' to make sales of rolling papers legal.

It is amazing to me that so many people use the stuff....if the gov't makes is legal and taxes it we could have a balanced budget.

Not to mention we'd have room in the prisons for real criminals like rapists, murderers, armed robbers, embezzlers...

I can't recall where I heard it, but the average sentence for a marijuana dealer is more than that of a rapist.

Not sure, but I think it has to do with the way you market the product. In Texas, we have cigarette/cigar stores that sell pipes, rolling papers, etc. but they have to have signs posted EVERYWHERE stating that the products are to be used

My mom rolls her own tobacco cigarettes. So, it isn't completely out of the ordinary.

I hate visiting her . . . you have to go home and throw your clothes in the washing machine with lots of fabric softner and then jump in the shower yourself.

When my husband used to smoke, he rolled his own cigarettes. Some of his friends still do. They use natural tobacco without chemical additives.

Maybe it makes a difference, healthwise? All these guys have been smoking for years, but are healthy, rugged athletic types.

Quite a few psych pts roll thier own. It's a lot cheaper.

you know what, maybe we're all just a bunch of pot smokers here in Winnipeg, but you can't drive down a major street here without passing a hydroponics equipment store or a head shop (that openly advertise selling pot paraphernalia). I've never touched the stuff myself of course, but HELLO there are dangerous criminals out there you should be arresting!
