3 days left and these kids are trying to make them count! Field day is Monday and if things keep up at this pace, I'm going to need a triage station and EMS on site! In 3 days I have: removed 3 ticks, had 2 with hives of unknown cause, 4 new concussions(all occurred at school), 6 new fractures (only 1 occurred at school, but the others were weekend injuries that I had make parents have evaluated) and argued with 2 teachers about the difference between allergies and pink eye. Are we done yet!?

Are you spying on me? Almost the same exact week. Add no counselor with end of year nerves and it has been a quick week.

wow! Only behavior issues here, Oh and a pretty bad seizure
I'm glad I'm not alone! My counter part at the other elementary has seen less than 10 kids a day all week and only for minor boo-boo stuff. Next Tuesday cannot get here soon enough!

Bus accident yesterday morning and yes, they asked me to "check out" all the kids that were on there. I hate that term "check out" - like I have a scanner or something. Weird injuries like toenail completely separated from bed and sticking straight up, dislocated jaw from yawning. Then throw in all the usual sore throats, tummy aches, old injuries. Jeez, we have 1.5 hours left today and half day tomorrow!!!

Y'all don't HAVE the special school nurse scanners in Texas? For shame.

Sounds like that should have been an EMS issue?

The end of the year is always the worst! I think the little snowflakes can sense they won't have us onsite and available to them all summer long so they find ways to need us!

Ugh! Just yesterday, one of my secretaries fell and fractured both wrists! Last week, huge gash from eyebrows to hairline in the middle of a kiddo's forehead, teeth through a lip, etc. Kiddo with a bee allergy got stung in the neck (supposedly), didn't have an epi-pen on site, but we do have stock. Luckily, he didn't react, so it didn't get that far. I'm not sure if this is an inferred bee allergy or it wasn't a bee that stung him.

I just pulled a (live but embedded) tick out of a student's ear. I still have the heebie jeebies from it! (But of course kept my cool in front of the student so as not to freak them out.) I'm ready for summer!!!
