J22, glad your sister's procedure improved her well being.  Hope the site doesn't cause any problems.

Rose, I hate when I leave my phone or forget something that is as routine as putting on my pants like my wallet or watch.  

Dianah, sounds like a good day.  

Amo, hopefully Stars just didn't have her phone around and will check in.

My boss talked me into applying for a new unit that opening up that will take care of day surgery patient's post op until they go home.  No weekends. I know the manager as she was a PACU nurse that I had a good rapport with and I take care of post op patients now so I'm a natural candidate.    I don't care about working weekends.  I've worked weekend for 40 years but it sounds interesting, so I'll gather some more information.  No timeline.  The place they say it will be is no where near ready.  It's probably a long term plan and won't be ready for months.  They have some long term goals based on increase in business and then "hiring more nurses" which I roll my eyes because they can't staff us now.  

Got the standings for the 4th week of bowling and our victories Monday catapulted us into first place!  Strange after being in last place for weeks on end.  Actually the pressure of being in first place is something I don't like, but it's nice.

Better day at work yesterday, thinking the next 2 days should be OK too as long as nothing unexpected happens

Choir practice was canceled due to the snow.  Went out and  shoveled  off my car and the area around it.  Did some shoveling at the entrance to the parking lot as people were having difficulty getting in and I wasn't sure when the snow  removal service would show

Talked to J, the podiatrist wants him to get a port (probably a PICC) to self administer IV antibiotics, rather than continue with the oral.  He's healing but I  guess the doc doesn't want to take a chance given that it's osteomylitis

Woke up early and not sure  if I fell back to sleep, kinda a restless night, blankets were all twisted

Not much going on today, since the parking lot has been plowed I will have to shovel behind the car again to make sure I can get out.   Thankfully no where  to go today

Woo Hoo, I feel like I've won the lottery! I got an MRI scheduled for the leg pain I 've had since October. I took the first available, which is March 1. ?‍♀️

I may contact my provider to see about increasing my dose of gabapentin, maybe at night. Weather is yuck. We had a little bit of snow over night, and now it is raining and foggy, about 35 degrees. At least I don't have to shovel it. Other wise today is work, run by the grocery store, and make dinner. I dropped off a roller bag (carry-on suitcase) to dd this morning. She is flying to Sacramento to comfort a friend who just lost her brother to leukemia, after a long struggle. 

Golly Tweety, that is quite a turn around bowling-wise. That new unit sounds intriguing, but yeah, staffing is so iffy. That sounds like the kind of unit that many of my old co-workers went to after they were burnt out on med-surg. ICU nurses seemed to gravitate to PACU near the end of their careers.

AAAAHHHHHHH! Finally I have managed to get on line. Now  I hope I can stay here.

I have a private message from...sirI?....yesterday.....and used the password given in that message, but when I tried to answer it, it went away. I had to wait 15 minutes  from my last try because I was shut out of my account. This is the first time I have my space to respond. and to like other posts. Let us pray I get to stay here! sirI I am sorry to have been such a PIA. ?

sirI, when I try to respond to your PM, there was no where to do so. The post I tried to send via PM had nothing below it except "insert other media" , and no 'submit reply'  button to click on. So I hope you can get this info here, because it is the only place I can get through! ****Can I continue to use the password you gave me? I'm afraid if I try to change it, I'll be stepping on my own toes again.

Yes, use the same password, and if you want, change it later. Get settled first. ? 

As for not being able to reply to the message, you may have to switch "browsers". If you are using Firefox, switch to Google Chrome. If you are using Chrome, switch to Firefox. Or, another browser like Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.

Sometimes switching to different browsers makes a difference and the "missing elements" (like, the missing box to reply to the pm) appear. (Browser issues may be part of your problem all along.)

sirI, I am on Google Chrome, and right now I don't even dare to try to find out how to switch browsers. I wouldn't even know how to do that, but don't give me any instructions right now, because, well....you know how I get.

I noticed that the first post of the day does not have the initial poster's ID at the top, as the following posts do. I can tell who is posting because of what they post about, being familiar with them, but just was wondering why the initial poster of the day isn't identified.

j22, I am glad your sister has responded to her procedure well. 

amoLu, I have a bad habit of leaving my phone upstairs, because I so seldom get any calls worth getting. A few scammers, or doc's office, or maybe the pharmacy. I don't want to try to call you because I don't know when would be a good time, but I will try to remember to keep the phone close by so I can get your call, when you call. Hubby gets ill with me when he's trying to call me when he goes out or when I go out, so I have been better about the phone if one of us is running errands. Years ago I would call my mom and tell her I am unplugging my (landline) phone, so if she needed to get in touch w/ me, call the landlady and she'd holler up to me to call my mom. What can I tell you?....I just have never been much of a phone person. Anyway...try, try again!

Joe, I remember when our church congregation winnowed down to less than two dozen people. That was after I went to live in Cambridge (nursing school and then a job) so I didn't attend our old church after that because  I always worked weekends. Oh, and I would've had to take a train home and have someone pick me up at the train station in the next town. Anyway, once our town had more folks move in, and there were more folks with families to attend church, the congregation filled back up. I have no idea how they are doing now, haven't been back to my home town in about ... ? 28 years or so.

Tweety, the possibility of that new job sounds somewhat promising . *IF* they follow through on hiring more nurses. But, it would seem to me they might first want to concentrate on RETAINING the nurses they hire!  // And, my goodness gracious....FIRST place in bowling now? WOW! The patterns of yo-yo scoring makes life interesting, eh?

So far, the latest Big Storm roaring North and up the East cost is missing us. We are in the 40's and cloudy, with rain off and on, but they aren't predicting anything but warmer temps this week before diving back down colder on the weekends as has been happening this last month. No snow? No ice? No complaints!

Once again, the Siesta is happening in the den.

I'm posting this and HOPE to come back later on, as I have several things to try to remember I was going to tell y'all while I was hanging in AN limbo. I will try to write them down in my notebook (brain).

But, I say again, it sounds like it's browser-related. Not being able to see Tweety's name is another "missing element" issue.

nursej22, SO GLAD you got an MRI appt!  Nice of your daughter to go be with her friend at this time.  Prayers going out for the family.

Busy day at work, but I got off on time.  Picked up dinner for dh, then hit the grocery store for a few items and then the HFS for a few items.

One more day checked off the calendar, till we go to Arizona, end of February, for some jamming!
