Stars I'm glad the mag citrate did the job, a big mess to clean up but at least you don't have to deal with continued impaction and possible medical intervention

NJ22 this was a freezer jam recipe, don't want to be bothered with canning

Tweety good that someone else is willing to do charge

Was a good day at work not too busy like I had feared I might be.  And no meetings

After work was fairly calm too.  Picked up some wine and exercised and did some CEUs

Today should be another fairly ordinary day both during work and after work, nothing out of the ordinary

Will be warmer today, in the upper 70s, although storms will start this afternoon and continue until tomorrow

Good morning!
Hi Joe, have a good day.

We will get up to the mid-80's today.  I'm thinking of going to hot yoga this afternoon as it's the 90 minute class I like as they changed the morning class I prefer to a 60 minute express class.  The only thing is the traffic is so much slower to get to the 4:30 class.

Otherwise, have plenty of chores to do to prepare the next two days of work, and mopping is overdo.

Have a great day!

Good Day! (At least I sure hope so!)

Last night Nannie did hold off pooping until she got on the toilet; she did a moderate amount of soft stool. Have to go get her up in 10 minutes, so I will find out if there have been any other "results" from the mag-citrate. I would HOPE that it is out of her system by now, but who knows?

Found out last night that SiL's day to come over for Nannie isn't until tomorrow. 😕

I have to call one of the credit card companies and tell them I will not be able to pay them by Wednesday this week, when the payment is due. I don't get my SS check until  Monday, so I guess I'll have a late fee to pay in addition. I have to call the automatic teller line at the bank to find out what my balance is (or isn't). I'm going to have to pull back on my purchasing of magazines and paperback books. I'll have to start doing the library visits and borrowing books to feed my 'print addiction'. Ugh. Oh well, at least there is something I can cut back on to avoid the dreaded "overdrawn" notice again.

Time for the Nannie-Routine~ whoopdeedooooo!

Amazingly enough, Nannie only had to have the 'inside' pad changed, as it was kind of damp. Didn't have to change anything else. The bed was dry and clean (!!) and when she got on the toilet, she peed and did several dozen flakes of poop. Hope that is the remainder of everything!

At least I don't have to do any LAUNDRY! Hallelujah!

Hello all!

Tweety, enjoy today, whatever you do!  Bowling tonight, am waiting on results! 🙂

Joe, hope your day goes smoothly.

No Stars, agree, the poop results are a good news/bad news kinda thing!  At least no more messes to clean up, or related laundry to do!  As The Three Stooges would toast each other after a project: "Success!!  Success!"  Hope today is tolerable!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon walking around Disneyland parks.  Before we went through security, we happened to bump into a couple we'd met a year ago.  She was one of three ppl dressed like the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty -- and they were SO CUTE!  We've been keeping an eye out for them, just have never seen them till now.  She was there with her husband (he was in a scooter, having recently had to go on full-time O2 for some sort of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). We got their contact information, and after we all went through security, we met and they led us over to the second person who had been dressed as a Fairie, a man whose wife died about a year ago -- just before they appeared at the parks dressed as Fairies.  He went in his wife's honor -- dressed as a Fairie!  It's now been a year since her passing, and he said he was "doing okay..."  He was there to ride the rides with friends who had just become engaged.  I hope they all had a good, healing day.

We got to hear three bands, two of them twice!  Enjoyed the flowers and foliage.  Saw a pair of Canada geese with babies, being gently herded through the crowds by Cast Members.  Then saw a mama duck with her babies, foraging for food.  We walked through Fantasyland and chatted briefly with a Cast Member outside the Peter Pan ride.  She asked if we had ever been on the ride, and of course, we had, but it was years ago.  She smiled and directed us to enter at a certain point, and we WALKED right on the ride!  It was so nice of her!  Then she sent us over to another person, who directed us to walk in through the exit of the Snow White ride and then we walked right onto THAT ride.  It was very nice of them both, and special to be on those rides again.

We got in over 11,000 steps, over 4 miles.  Really enjoyed the bands.  Temperature was probably in the low 70's with a breeze, a beautiful day to be there, and not real crowded (as Disney crowds go).

Today we have a couple errands to do, and I have a walk at 5pm with friends.  Not much else planned.

Have a good day!

Stars, our housekeeping never cleaned up "biological waste". It was always up to nursing staff, and the only thing we were supposed to use was paper towels. No cleaning agents, no rags, just paper towels. Housekeeping would mop the floor, but only after all traces of vomit, urine, blood, feces, was removed.

Wellllll, "I did it *MY* way!!" Mostly because I had no choice.😫

And I must confess, at times when working in a facility cleaning up after a patient, I actually used face cloths which I then THREW AWAY! What a rebel!

Well, I'm glad that's resolved without having to visit the hospital, Stars.

dianah, that sounds like a lovely day at the park.

J22, hope your ds's eye is improving.

TMB, good to "see" you, and hope all the drama is settling down for you.

Joe, too bad Aida wasn't interesting. I keep getting emails letting me know that Tosca will be performed in OKC in a couple of months. Since I'm in budget-cutting mode I don't think I'll be heading to the theater any time soon.

We did watch Billy Joel's concert from Madison Square Garden the other night and enjoyed it. We also finally watched the Oppenheimer movie.

Last night was expected to be stormy but here there was just a lot of gusty wind. Both my brother and my sister phoned in the evening. Brother was concerned about the storms. Sister seemed to be doing well. Every time we talk lately she tells me the story of how one of her cats got her name. But hopefully that isn't a sign of mental decline. I have stories that I repeat, too, but (I hope) not quite that often.

82 and sunny today. Hubs and I enjoyed sitting outdoors Saturday while we made a birthday video call to stepdaughter.

We have to clean up messes and then housekeeping will come along and sanitize the area.  We can use towels and whatever we need to.  I used to get so angry people that would throw away wash clothes after cleaning up a patient, or even throw away bedpans.  Pet peeve.  LOL

Dianah, bowling was last night and I was there.  Next week is the last week and I won't be going because of work obligations.  Sounds like you had a good day.

I got all I wanted done, mopped the house, cleaned the bathrooms, cooked a dish and went to hot yoga class.

I'm working the floor tomorrow.

Okay, apparently all the mag-citrate is not gone from Nannie's system. After supper she said, "I feel like I have to go to the bathroom." And in the bathroom, taking down her britches, I was confronted by MORE loose stool almost everywhere in the 'Netherlands' regions. It wasn't quite as bad as yesterday (or was it the day before?) but it was still kind of TOOOOO much for me! I did find another box of gloves, but have now used up all the wipes. Hope she stays clean for the rest of the night. SiL is coming over tomorrow to get Nannie up, give her a shower, wash her hair, dress her, and take her over to their house for the afternoon.

I just can NOT get Nannie to pay attention when I say "Don't touch anything!" She was sitting on the toilet and I had to say it 7 times in less than 5 minutes. "DON'T touch anything!" , "Nannie, Do NOT touch ANYTHING!" and "Stop touching yourself, you are spreading your poop MORE that way!", and, "I DON'T need your help! STOP!" She wants to check her clothes, her shoes, gets her hands in the poop trying to see where the poop is and tries to clean it off with 2 squares of TP, and no gloves.! Or if I toss a used wipe in the wastebasket, the first thing she does is reach in to get it, to look at it and see how much is there. I got kind of SHORT with her, as I was soooo frustrated .... if she does take her hands away, she puts her hands on her thighs or breasts, so there are MORE areas to wash, some for a 2nd or 3rd time. ARGH!!!

Okay, I'm through squawking....for now.

Stars, I think I've heard the same thing when Hubs is trying to clean up Gma. These days, though, it comes with shrieks of indignation that her modesty is being violated.

Kudos to you, Stars and Ado, for your good elder care!
