Stars that's great that she'll be there 2 days to help

NJ22 a trip to Mount Rainier sounds nice

Hi Tweety

Ado glad to hear that you were able to make it to book club

Yesterday turned out to be busier than expected.  Did the cooking before church and worked with the bread dough a bit.  Stayed a bit later than expected at church, talking with church friends who are currently having some difficulties.  Did some more grocery shopping and came home and baked the bread.  Ants seem to be appearing again, so I cleaned the area they showed up with vinegar and set out some  traps

Decided to take it easy the rest of the day,  so I rode my bike and watched the rest of Carmen and some more of Outlander.  Was very windy yesterday,  so I was pretty exhausted afterwards.  Spent some more time on the dating apps, still messaging with that one  guy.  Not sure if anything will  come of that, I notice I tend to provide info about myself but he doesn't ask any follow up questions, which I do when he provides info about himself.  Perhaps not a good sign

Today should be pretty ordinary.  Should hear back from the vet today.  Will probably email my aunt downstate.  And my cousin again, have not heard back from her regarding our return trip to Milwaukee this year

Another warm day, in the mid 70s,  but will storm starting in the afternoon and all evening

Good morning!

Joe, it does seem like he should show a little more interest in getting to know you.   Perhaps he's just not a good conversationalist, but you also shouldn't be putting in all the effort.  You went through that with J.   Good luck.

Had a good visit with my doctor today.  She's not happy with my BP which was up as always in the office.  Talked about medication but wants me to try lower sodium and exercise.  Also wants me to up my B12 supplement from twice a week to daily.  The level was normal at 392 but she wants it at 400.  She made a referral for my 10 year colonoscopy.  Oh joy.

Next up it's time for the dog's check up.  I'm a bit annoyed because I got a notice that both of my dogs are deficient on their rabies vaccine which isn't true.  Hopefully they can help with that.  Vets are supposed to be able to send that information to the county automatically.

Otherwise, I'll probably rest up for bowling tonight.

Have a great day!

I'm up and have guzzled a 6 oz. cup of coffee, but will probably make another shortly. It is supposed to be sunny and 72 degrees, though the other day the weather people had said "Rain." Mother Nature is kind of fickle here, or the meteorologists are indecisive. But as always, it is what it is.

At some point I'll need to hop out to go to the bank, also need to get some sugar for my coffee. As usual, I have no motivation to get anything done. I think I must be depressed. It is just another day to get through.

Three hours later.....

All I have done is wash a few dishes, and switched laundry from the washer to the dryer. Oh, and I nuked some taquitos and ate them. Nannie is doing her nap-thing.

I'm sorry you're feeling the effects of some depression, Stars. Maybe 2 days of having help and the chance to do your own thing will help.

Maine Coon cats are gorgeous. My cousin has had a couple. So big. I think our Sam is really big at 15 lbs but he would be a small Maine Coon.

Guess I'll go out and do my banking tomorrow, and pick up a bag of sugar then, too. I did a couple of crossword puzzles after I folded the dried clothes. Waiting for the 6 o'clock news, which I probably shouldn't watch, given my state of mind. As an appetizer for me, prior to preparing Nannie's supper, I think 0.5 mg Xanax is called for.

The big local news is a large cooking-oil spill on some roadway. (But, it isn't hot enough today to fry an egg, so that won't be part of the story.)

I'm so tired, and tired of my shoulder aching. I did a bit of scrubbing in the kitchen last night and really aggravated whatever is going on in my shoulder.  I accompanied dh to his plant nursery, and we took the dogs to keep them out from underfoot of the builder. Most of the work is done. tomorrow with be a half day of caulking and paint touch up. Snow, hail, rain and sun, again, today. It is really pretty on the foothills. I didn't call anyone to get the dryer fixed. I left the house and completely forgot. Oh well. I did call one of the master gardeners to see if she is going to volunteer this year. She is the rose expert, and I am trying to suck up all of her knowledge. She looks very frail and I am guessing she must be close to 80 yo. 5 of us are going to tackle pruning the roses in 2 weeks. It would normally be done sooner, but the weather has been yuck.

Eldest ds was just here, to drop off some more pants of his that need mending. He has been dealing with a stye since December. When he finally went to an eye doctor in January , they said just put warm packs on it and it will drain. And he was supposed to follow up with an ophthalmologist, but he walked out because of a prolonged wait. The dumb thing did come to a head and pop, and is bigger than ever. His next appointment is in 2 weeks. I think he needs antibiotics and an I & D (he has type 1 dm). I told him he should call again, and yay, he will be seen in the morning.

My bp is always 20-30 points higher in the office. The docs have suggested upping my wee dose of lisinopril, but I already have episodes of lightheadedness and bp less than 90. As long as I stay away from doctors, my bp is good. I already avoid salt and exercise.

Our communication between vets and the humane society is almost medieval. I get a paper certificate, then I have to mail or fax it in to get a dog license. The one time my dog got picked up and sent to doggy jail, I couldn't take her home until the vet faxed a certificate to the dog catcher, who was contracted with the Humane Society. This same dog catcher couldn't tell me over the phone if they had my dog despite a pretty distinct description: yellow lab, purple collar, big open sore on her forehead, name tag reads "Mouse" with my phone number.

I want a taquito. I may settle for a chocolate cookie and milk.

Hello all!

I am sorry to read that No Stars is kinda down, that Joe's disappointed with his first online date experience, that Tweety's BP is still a lil high, and that nursej22's shoulder is troubling her.  I wish I had a magic wand, which I would quickly wave, and all those issues would POOF!! go away!!  Thinking of you all...

We drove back home from the bluegrass festival -- 4.5 hours on the road.  BIG winds as we approached the 10 freeway, just outside of Palm Springs!  BIG winds!  Dh slowed to 55 or less (we drive a Class C, only 25 feet long but still we feel the winds pummel it!) and the winds abated after we passed Banning on the 10 freeway.

We were gone a week (left last Monday, returned home Monday).  Got in LOTS of jamming and visiting.  Saw a couple bands, heard more, as we were parked so close to the stage we could hear what was going on, and kinda got to hear the whole festival!  The weather was great, temps in low 70's, and we had winds kick up only on Saturday and Saturday night.  There were still some winds yesterday and yesterday evening but not like Saturday!  I found a jam last night, right on the beach, and it was fun -- mostly younger than me, and wow, could they pick FAST!  I did a couple slower songs, they seemed to like them.

It was fun meeting known friends and making new friends.  We gave away some CDs of our band.  We are now pretty much unpacked.  I need to start the laundry going: first off, the linens we use in the RV, and then after that, our dirty clothes.  So, yeah, I'm right there with you, No Stars!  We came home with some remaining frozen meals, so we will be able to finish those in the next few days (which means NO COOKING, for me, yay!).

Have a good evening!

Some photos from the trip:

Stage all set up, and as of Tuesday noon, ppl may bring their chairs and claim their listening space, so you see all the chairs set up!  Vendor booths (food and different items) surround the stage, in a semi-circle at the back.  Lake Havasu is at my back.
