QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.
Trump and republican policy on women's reproductive health care is dangerous for women.
Not a news flash, but I want to let y'all know about a new book. "Lucky Loser" by Russ Buettner and Susanne Craig, a couple of investigative reporters for the New York Times. It is essentially a look at trump's financial history. It goes back to Fred Trump and the history of the family's money. It's a long read (17 hours on the audiobook), but worth it.
It's too early to expect such a history to be definitive, but the tone is pretty neutral and the information therein is pretty much public record, so I'm going with it for now.
I'm still in the Fred Trump era, but it seems pretty clear that trump learned his skills as a thief at his father's knee. It's also a pretty interesting look at the inner workings of corporate welfare.
I wonder if this man was radicalized by left media and Democrat rhetoric?
QuoteAn Alaska man was arrested for allegedly threatening to injure and kill six Supreme Court justices and some of their family members in retaliation for decisions he disagreed with, the Department of Justice announced Thursday.
The indictment does not name which of the six justices were threatened. The court is split 6-3 between conservatives and liberals

Tens of millions of people heard criticism from the left of the Supreme Court and their decisions. So my best guess would be a no on that one. Crazy is crazy.

Fair enough. However it should be noted that 6/9 judges were targeted. There are 6 Republican judges and 3 Democrat judges.
Needs less to say, I do not think it was a "MAGA cult victim" that made these threats.

Did someone maintain that he was a MAGA cult victim? Maybe that was just a strawman.
Crazy is crazy.

Did you hear anything referring to Fred marching with the Nazis in Skokie? Back before 2016, someone posted what purported to be a picture of him with the marchers and it looked exactly like him and we know he was a rampant racist, but, of course, his likeness couldn't reach anything evidentiary. The new movie about Trump and his relationship with his lawyer, Roy Cohn, will address his court case re: racial profiling the applicants for his Lefrak City apartments in Queens. People who don't remember that case will not know the ending so I won't spoil it for those too incurious to read about it.

Remember the pitch for for-profit healthcare back in the 70's? The argument was that the profit motive would inevitably lead us to better healthcare at lower prices.
And we fell for it.
