QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Next Rally: April 19th!
In social media posts, the group stated that they want 3.5 percent of the U.S. population—more than 11 million people—to participate. They cite this figure as the threshold for "sustained resistance in order to make a difference."
I'll be back.--with rollator if needed.
No updates or pictures? You think they made their goal of 11 million? LOL
Trump being his usual professional and Presidential self on Truth Social:
QuotePreemptive Cuts" in Interest Rates are being called for by many. With Energy Costs way down, food prices (including Biden's egg disaster!) substantially lower, and most other "things" trending down, there is virtually No Inflation. With these costs trending so nicely downward, just what I predicted they would do, there can almost be no inflation, but there can be a SLOWING of the economy unless Mr. Too Late, a major loser, lowers interest rates, NOW. Europe has already "lowered" seven times. Powell has always been "To Late,” except when it came to the Election period when he lowered in order to help Sleepy Joe Biden, later Kamala, get elected. How did that work out?
QuoteStocks fell again on Monday as President Donald Trump ramped up his attacks on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, raising questions about the central bank's independence, while traders received little signs of progress on global trade talks.

Trump says there is "virtually no inflation". Not true but the inflation rate does seem more manageable. But that's not the whole story.
QuoteBut Trump's tariffs have increased the threat of a recession with higher inflationary pressures and slower growth, a tough spot for Powell, whose mandate is to stabilize prices and maximize employment. With the economy weakening because of Trump's moves, the president appears to be looking to pin the blame on Powell.

Of course Trump would blame Powell for Trump's economic failures. When Powell is gone, who do you think Trump will blame then? He always blames someone. Will it be Bessent? Ron Vara?

I 4,000 people showed in my little city of about 18,000. The city is surrounded by water on 3 sides and there is no where to build but up. As a result we have much more heavily populated townships who favor Republican but 4,000 people are still 4% of the entire county and it was a freezing, gray day, Regardless of the actual numbers, it was the largest protest march in American history.

Oops.
It looks like the Trump economic policy that inspired so many to vote for him was just dishonest marketing.
QuoteThe Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 1,163 points lower, or 3%. The S&P 500 shed 3.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 3.4%.
The "Magnificent Seven" tech titans traded lower, with Tesla and Nvidia respectively losing 7% and 6%. Amazon shed 4%, as did Advanced Micro Devices and Meta Platforms. Equipment manufacturer Caterpillar declined 3%.
How long do you think it will take before the stock losses are translated into job losses?

Sounds like a good turnout there. I'd love to see a source for that number.
In my liberal metro area of 3 million, the police estimate was 3000. There were 8000 a few weeks ago.
It barely made the local news. The first two local news websites I looked at didn't even mention it.
All the news reports I see mention "thousands across the country ". It doesn't sound like they even made a total of a million.

LOL....no it wasn't.
Straight out of the Trump and Republican playbook. To me at this point it seems like digging up bones. But the picture is dramatic.

It seems that this administration is incompetent and sloppy. They don't appear to care when their mistakes hurt people.
