QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Business is one of those majors they made up to sell sell diplomas...like event planning and sports management. GRRRR. Back to HGTV:)
Perhaps you could provide some examples of Republicans that you would agree best for the appointments? Except the immediate disqualifyer ii being a Republican. Regardless of merit or experience.

How about Jerome Powell? Robert Shiller?
Do you require that only Republicans serve in the upcoming administration? That seems like a rather narrow viewpoint.

No. Not at all. However the current administration tends to fill the position with people aligned with the party affiliation. Considering many called Trump "Nazi fascist" the alternate doesn't seem likely. All good tho, who would want to be appointed by "Hitler" am I right?
I'm sure if she didn't get voted out by her constituents, you would have listed Liz Cheney.

Jerome Powell is a Republican and worked under both Trump and Biden.
Why would I list a non-economist to head Treasury? I happen to place value in education and expertise.
Trump seems to value people who make poor choices about personal matters.

Weak. I'm calling you out for brining up the Nazi thing yet again. J22 was not one of those "many" people and you're brushing aside a point she was trying to make by pivoting to your old tired stance. But go ahead. Harp on it all you want. You're grown and I can't tell you want to post. Just wanted to call you out.........again.

I can think of only one poster here who has continually referred to Trump being Hitler and a Nazi. In fact, almost every post in the last couple of weeks have mentioned one or both of those labels. I wonder why.

I was curious at the time and read some articles that equated some of the things Hitler has said and compared them to Trump, and some of the things happening in the country to pre-Nazi Germany, just to gain some understanding. Ultimately, while I could see it, I certainly didn't think we were headed towards that direction and that America was better than that.
Maybe the poster should take a clue from Trump himself whose VP called him Hitler and it doesn't seem to bother him. Doesn't seem to bother America because because he won the electoral college and popular vote. They want him in the White House.
About government positions. I remember years ago, maybe 30 or more years ago saying that some of those positions would be better served by academics that actually study and know the ramifications of decisions and have some good ideas in economics, medicine, agriculture and the environment. I guess one issue is that they don't necessarily know how to manage large departments with huge budgets.
I do understand the point buried in the Nazi sarcasm that a President wants to steer government organizations over this his line of thinking and towards party goals. Obviously I don't think that's a good choice with Trump as I disagree with the Republican platform. But I want us as a nation to succeed. Taking covid out of the equation things were going okay during the Trump years for some of us.
The AG pick Pam Bondi will probably get confirmed. I remember her here in Florida rallying against gay marriage (she won as Florida voted against gay marriage). The meme was "I support the sanctity of marriage so much I've had three of them". But the third was only a rumor because she posted a pic of her in a white dress with the third man but called off the wedding and is now understandably keeping her private life private.

You can call me out all you want. I wasn't implying that J22 was part of the "many".that used the apparent forbidden word Nazi. I was refering to the many political officials that did make those references.
I'm really sorry but that type of disgusting narrative that was implemented against Republicans is worthy to call out. I will call it out too. Probably again.
It does seem that is not longer a primary takling point for democrats anymore. I'm not about to forget the millions of people killed by that forbidden word "Nazis"" that many democrat OFFICIALS not J22 seemed to use to slander their political opponents.
Carry on. Call me out. I am grown, it won't hurt my feelings.

Perhaps you shpuld find out why Vance changed his mind about Trump. I was similar to why I did. I voted for Biden in 2020 because I fell victim to the propaganda surrounding Trump. Then I looked back and realized, hey, he didn't do anything fascist in his first 4 years. Then I went and found full video not clips of the all the "Nazi" type things he apparently said. I found when not clipped and edited, or spun in almost unison on every left msm. Then I looked at the border and my lie. It was much better under Trump than Biden.

I'm not trying to hurt your feelings.
The criticism is you hanging on to it and using it as an excuse to avoid any discussion but you don't seem to get that and even now went on to explain to me yet again that you didn't like the Nazi reference (which again I have to explain to you was not a part of the Democratic campaign).
Me: "............". You: (changing the topic) "but your side called him a Nazi." Me: "there you go again avoiding a topic". You: but it was a disgusting narrative.
Again, I can understand you not wanting to play nice and we can call each other out every post. Won't hurt my feelings.

Vance was a "never Trumper" that called him "the New Hitler". Perhaps he too was a victim of propaganda. But clearly he contributed to the propaganda of the time as a public figure. Whether his rapid change over the last two years was enlightenment and genuine or opportunistic is anyone's guess. Regardless Trump forgave him and moved on and picked him and he is squarely Team Trump MAGA. (Which was my point in bringing up Vance, perhaps you should too should move on as Trump did).
It's all beside the point because America clearly wanted Trump. Democrats over the top demonization of Trump backfired and rightly are taking a look at that.
That Trump called Harris a fascist and used insults like scum and lied endlessly is no cause for soul searching since he won. The "it's not as bad as being called a Nazi" card will come out anyway.

The Republican agenda does not sit well with the left. Same as the Biden agenda was rejected by the right. Portraying Trump as a victim seems a bit off. It politics. I certainly can't appreciate how ugly it's gotten the last 20 years.
Most of us want America to succeed. Trump said success will bring us together. As an American I don't want him to fail. But, I'll probably disagree with all he does. 😆
Not sure how long the above post was unsent but I guess I forgot to hot send a while away.
Anyway Rand Paul says Trump should not use military st the border.
