Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

hey overachieving freak of nautre , you wont DIE if u get a B on a test ;]

I love that--I've been getting high Bs on most of my med-surg exam, and it's driving some of my classmates nuts that I'm ok with that. According to them, they'd just DIE if they got an A-...:coollook:I'm happy with what I am getting, but I hate the insinuations that I'm not good enough because I don't live and breathe nursing school. Interestingly enough, I got the highest percentile of the class on the HESI, so I know I'm doing something right.

Heres some:

Lose the silly sense of self-entitlement and grow up. Nobody owes you anything. No you do NOT deserve to watch a second c-section when there are people waiting to see their first.

Keep your hands to yourself. Physically assaulting people (smacking, etc) under the guise of joking is just not cool.

STOP.INTERRUPTING.CLASS.TO.ASK.IRRELEVANT.QUESTIONS. OH MY GOD.

Stop arguing things you got wrong on the exam. Who are you gonna argue with when you fail NCLEX? If you disagree with the rationale, go have a civil discussion with the instructor privately.

No, I dont want to tell you what I got for # 12.

No, I dont care that you got a 100%.

If you cant handle the fact that someone else got an externship and you didnt, dont ask!

Oh this could be quite a list LOL....so many of these I can relate to!

Put your cell phones up...Do you really wonder why I pretend I don't hear you when you have been texting during an entire lecture and ask for my notes....take your own!

If you won't give me the time of day in class or lab unless you need something don't expect me to go out of my way to talk to you when I run into you in public.

Don't roll your eyes when I ask questions to clarify something...just because you're too chicken to ask yourself...some of us are there to learn!

Shut up about your kids & the illness they have...I'm a mom too & know it isn't always easy but does every single flippin thing we discuss have to include a comment about "when my child had "blah blah blah" they "blah blah blah". Really? How are they alive if they have been inflicted with every possible thing we have discussed!

Now a few good ones-

Thank you for helping me wipe the poop up & off of myself after our c diff. covered clinical day...I didn't even have to ask for help...you were just there & had my back.

Thank you for accepting me as I am...I know I'm corky but, I'm me.

Oh I have an idea....

Why don't you treat your family's medical information with the same confidentiality as your patients' information? That way I don't need to hear all the gory details. Besides wouldn't they be ****** off if they knew you blurted out extremely private info about them?

If you people took the time you spend spewing drama about this program and put it into studying, you'd all be getting A's.

Or, to put it more succinctly: SHUT UP.

Oh crap I thought of a new one: some of you smarty smarts are just gonna have to get used to being WRONG once in awhile. Ever heard of "big fish, small pond?" Well now you're in nursing school - you're a little fish. Got it?

Look, it's the end of the semester and I'm tired, and I'm especially tired of helping you with things you should already know. Oh, and why are you still here anyway?

Did I really just hear you say "I wish I had known it would be this way - all this stupid theory, nursing diagnoses and crap. I thought the doctor would write the meds and I would just give them."

Seriously?! *outraged* DROP! Drop NOW! I would never want you for my nurse or my family member's nurse. You need to go do something else if you really feel that way. How on earth did you decide to be a nurse without researching it?!

I'm in pre-nursing and I can't believe the year is done in 3 days! Here goes!

1.SHUT THE **** UP ALREADY! and you keep this up in NS, I swear I will shut you up, people!

2.This is not high school, grow up, pay attention, study and stop complaning! The teachers are not here to babysit you, they are here to TEACH!!! So listen up and take notes!

3.Don't ask people "what did you get?" say "how did you do?" so they don't actyally have to give you a %age :rolleyes:because it's 1.non on your business, 2.what if they feel bad for not doing as good as they though, and so on.

4.Stop being so damn cocky, Mr. Cocky man dude, ugh I feel ssick just thinking about it. :barf02:Repeat after me: "The world doen't revolve around me!"

5. come to class ON TIME (I know **** happens...) but seriously, being late almost everyday, there's no exuses!

6. If you do come in late, sit somewhere where you don't hove to climb and make a lot of noise, it very distracting!

7. PLEASE, stop wearing so much noisy jewellery, everytime you move your hand when youre writing or what ever, it makes so much noise!!! UGH, you're like a christmas tree sometimes, all decorated...:uhoh3:

8.Seriously, I'm not the enemy just because I passed the admissions test and got into NS, and you didn't pass it and are now kinda stuck and not able to start NS in sept. I thought we were kinda friendly all year long, and now you give me dirty looks, attitude and don't even say Hi 9/10 times, wft is up with this? :uhoh3: I feel bad you didn't make it, but seriopusly, it's not my fault. I know you have a kid and it must be hard and all... but you are 5 years younger than me, you got plentuy of time. It almost mekes me feel guilty I got inand you didn't. Ugh:mad: I sould just be happy for myself! Good luck to you in what evern you do, I mean it. No hard feelings ok?:)

9.How do you girls look so good every day, find the time to do your hair al the time, manage to keep up with all this stuf, seriously!?! and how can you afford all the new clothes like every week?!?

10.Come to class!!! Stop skipping! I only missed like 3 classes for the whole year, some people miss 3 classes almost every week! When you don't show up for class, you ask stupid questions in class, and then bug me after class for all the handouts, and asking what we did. ugh :uhoh3:

11.People, seriously get your own supplies! You know there is store called "Staples" all over the city, they sell school/office supplies. There's slso Wall Mart, or just go to the dollar store, I don't mind sharring, but sometimes I wonder if peopel you ever go shopping for anything else other than clothes...

12.If you borrow my stuff, give it back, I'm not the free pencil girl, okay? and I shouldn't be asking you back, it makes me feel cheap:mad:, but you are supposed to give them back if you BORROW them!

13.No you don't know it all! If you did you wouldn't be here

14.If you don't like, leave.

15.You shouldn't go into nursing ONLY for the money, you will be greately disapointed.

16.Buy your own goddam books! ugh:uhoh3:

And finally! :

17.To all the wonderful teachers, THANK YOU!!!:yeah: You are so great, thank you for everything!

18.To all those who were supportive, nice and friendly, thank you for being there! and Good luck!:)

19.To all the people who still don't know if they're in for Sept or not, keep your hopes up, I think you're really gonna make it, you're doing so well, you're get on that GPA list, even you didn't get in through testing! :D

20.To all those who got in! Yay! I'm so happy for you (and me)!:DWe made it, and see ya all in NS! :D

21. To all the newly formed couples, you know who you are, you guys are so addorable together, I wish you all the best! :)

Have a great summer everyone!:)

Oh, I forgot some!

1.Yes, there's ususaly several different versions of the test! Get over it! :uhoh3:

2.Stop talking before the test, and trying to make people explain stuff you don't know/understand like 5 mins. before the test!!! It's driving me crazy, and making me nervous. I don't talk before tests, and I don't like people talking to me. I'm sure I'm not the only one.:uhoh3:

3.When we are done the test stop asking me what did you get on this questio, and that one, and the other one... I DON'T/CAN'TWON'T memorized test questions, 1.I'm busy answering them 2. there are different versions of the test, so we might not even have the same one. ;)

4.When you work on a project in a group don't make other people (me) chase after your stuff, do your work on time, do your part of the work.:uhoh3:

5.People, when you're team is presenting, show up to your class and present with your team, it's really rude and irresponsible not to show up  (it didn't happen to me, but I feel bad for teams theat have to go up there, and they have like 1-2 members missing!)

6.Droping out of your team/project the day before or the day of the due date/presentation is f******, how can people do that?!? That's horrible!:devil::down:

7.Stop taking noise with your food, and the bags, why are you eating this juk at 8 am?

8. You came 15-20 minutes late to class practuically every day, but you still had the time to stop by the coffee shop and buy yourself a coffee, and a myffin (or what ever) and now the good smell is distracting, and so is the noise from the muffin paper bag.

9.Having your thong sticking your is not cool... it's disgusting. UGH!

10.Relax a bit, it's okay not to get 100% ON EVERYTHING!:lol2:

You are so much better and smarter than you think you are. There is a reason you got in.

you are going to be a great nurse!! :yeah:
