I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

I think you're confused. Terrorism isn't "right wing". It's terrorism and is not part of any legitimate political group/affiliation.
Terrorist are criminals. They do not have a right or left category. Right or left can commit terroristic attacks but neither are in the same ballpark as these Islamic Terrorist groups/leaders/countries.

Since he met with Ukraine's President Zelensky yesterday, wonder what he promised to get the Ukraine War ended?

Preventing war is incendiary language to you? LOL

No, I'm not confused.
Do you think that Islamic terrorists are leftists? Do you think that the KKK are leftists? Were they ever left wing? How about Timothy McVeigh, another leftist? Are you aware of the Turner Diaries?
The notion that there's not a right or left ideology associated with terrorism is ridiculous. Also ridiculous is the implication that leftist domestic terrorism represents the same risk/ threat in the USA.

I think terrorist are terrorist
It's interesting you feel the need to label and group people. Isn't that a "right wing" characteristic?
Well when people make the suggestion that Trump's 2 assasins were anything but far left radicals who know what left wing terrorism is or not? How is it categorized?

Could you explain why you feel this makes Trump " Dementia J Trump"? Perhaps you could articulate the speculation better than the other member
Perhaps the tariffs are part of the motive? LOL
Am I the other member that you are referencing? I've articulated clearly what signs of dementia Trump displays. It's always interesting that the nurse with specially and certification in geriatrics and dementia is unable to discern the obvious symptoms of dementia in Trump after imagining severe and disabling symptoms in another old man.

Are you kidding? What's really interesting is that you are trying so very hard to pretend that right wing extremism isn't really a threat in this country when it's a threat across the globe.
You've been very preoccupied with the notion that the failed assassins were leftists, which, ironically is a made up contention that isn't supported by the known evidence surrounding those angry white men with guns. That's very inconvenient as you claim others are making things up.
Why don't you do a little bit of reading about right and left wing extremism before you try gas lighting the thread on the topic? After you do, you might be able to answer your own basic questions about the categorization or analysis of right wing extremist groups.
Here's a resource from The Center for Strategic and International Studies that can get you started. This piece was authored during Trump's administration.
I was reminded yesterday that the newest voters in this cycle don't really remember a time in politics before Trump and they don't really know or care about his personal history of fraud and bullying and sexual abuse. They aren't really concerned about that history because it seems irrelevant to them and their lives.
I see this phenomenon as a failure of our education system and our media.
TRUMP Town Hall, Walker, Michigan just the other day.
QuoteAUDIENCE QUESTION: Thank you so much for coming to Michigan. My name is Ashley and I work at the Chrysler plant. Like many auto workers, I am deeply concerned about the future of our industry. With many jobs being outsourced as we speak, what action will you take to ensure that our jobs stay in America so we can continue to build the best cars in the world here in Michigan?
Get ready for this answer. It's crazy and rambling and chaotic and confused. To top it off, it seems to highlight a delusion about an award that never was.
QuoteDONALD TRUMP: So, pretty much as we've been saying, and what I want to do is I want to be able to — Look, your business — Years ago in this area, I was honored as the man of the year. It was maybe 20 years ago. Oh, and the fake news heard about it. They said, it never happened. It never happened. And I didn't know who it was. It was a group that honored me as man of the year. The fakers back there, see the fake news. But they said — They said, oh — And they looked and, you know, they said it never happened. But I said, I swear to you, it happened.
So there's no evidence but we're supposed to believe him because he swears its true.
QuoteIt did happen. I was man of the year. And I came and I made a speech and I said, why do you allow them to take your car business away? Why do you allow it to happen? They're taking your business away. And I didn't know too much about it. All I know is they were taking your car industry away from you. They said it never happened.
And lo and behold, somebody said, I remember the event. And then we found out and we had everything. We got the awards. We had everything. It did happen. But I gave a speech, which at the time was pretty controversial. We can't let them take your car business away. It's such an important business.
And you know it's an important business even in times of war where they switch over. And it was really something. And I looked at that speech from, I don't know, it's like 19, 20 years ago. And I could repeat it now without changing a word.
So far he's not answered the question in any way but he's sure fixated on something that he believes happened 20 years ago. Is that mental illness or dementia or is that a normal train of thought?
But wait, there's more. Trump's not done ranting and rambling through a word salad nonsense answer to a question about manufacturing jobs.
QuoteYou cannot let foreign countries, and a lot of the times our worst foes are our so-called friends, okay? You know, our friends, the European Union takes tremendous advantage of us. As an example, they give us cars by the millions. We don't have too many Chevrolets in the middle of European cities, okay? European Union is brutal. They don't take our farm products for the most part. They don't take a lot. But unlike Kamala, who always complains and doesn't do anything, I keep saying, why don't you do?
Who is always complaining? What an interesting projection.
QuoteI saw Marsha the other day. Why doesn't she, why didn't she do it four years ago almost? And I say that, you know, she's on the border today trying just to, what a day for the border. She goes to the border today, and they just announced just before she got up to speak that more than 13,000 murderers from jail, solitary confinement people in many cases, were released.
But I just say, let's go back. So we can't let them take our businesses. And we're not gonna let them take our businesses. And you can control that so easily through good policy. Not her kind of policy, by the way. She changed her policy 15 times. No fracking. Oh, I like fracking. Defund the police. She wants to defund the police. Now, oh, I love the police all of a sudden. By the way, when anybody is into defunding the police even for a day during their career, they can no longer serve as President of the United States, I can tell you.
QuoteSo we're not gonna let them take our businesses. And really, a lot of that's determined by our taxation policy. When China has to pay all that money, the people that liked me the best were the steel companies because I saved them. They were dumping China and others, but mostly China was dumping steel in here at levels that nobody had ever seen before.
And it was putting the steel companies out of business. I put a 50% and 100% tax on the dumping of steel and the steel companies thrived. I saved them, and you have to have the steel companies. So we'll do the same thing.
And you don't worry about it. Here's what you have to do. I only ask you to do one thing, and then you can sleep beautifully all night long, go to a job you love, and get a lot of money at the end of the week. You know what the thing is? Vote for Trump. If you vote for Trump, everything's gonna be perfect.
just vote for Trump and everything will be perfect. The fellow cannot actually articulate a policy plan but he sure does entertain his audience as he cons them much like a carnival barker.
Clearly, Trump is mentally ill and struggles with basic communication of ideas and concise points. He shouldn't be elected, there should be an intervention. The media should be talking about this incoherence incessantly.
