I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

It says that his supporters like Trump more than they like law and order or equal accountability under the law. Trump in his unethical and amoral conduct and communications represents themand their beliefs and their feelings about the USA and its diverse population.
Beerman said:Interesting that they're saying Trump will lose only because he's a convicted felon. Doesn't say much for Joe, does it?
Exactly. However, I do not think the majority of Americans appreciate a marked attempt to jail your political opponents. If there was a clear cut crime that's one thing but non of these charges are that.

"If you support Trump you are racist" political tactics has been worn out. Try something else.....
Everything and everything is racist according to demorats so no one cares anymore.

Nah... I'll just speak my mind and stick with that which has evidence in the real world. Yes, I am aware that racism and treason and incompetence and bold faced lies and felony convictions no longer matter to today's republican voter. Yes, I know. Republicans don't care about character or honor or integrity in the era of Trump.
It's a shame.

Just a few comments back you claimed that there weren't any specific charges clarified and now you're claiming that the charges are clear cut evidence of something else.
The spin is almost dizzying, right?

Interesting. The republican party doesn't think that black people are too incompetent to get photo ID. Or have never seen a laptop.......

Not spin.
These misdemeanor charges were contorted into felonies by alleging they were committed to cover up a underlying crime. The underlying crime has not been clarified.
Here is yet one more legal expert to help you understand.

Right. So he committed a crime that no one knows and that's what he is guilty of. He covered up a crime . Doesn't matter what that crime was just that he covered it up.
Bonkers. Poltilizatiion from a DA that openly campaigned on "getting Trump".

I don't think I'm the one who doesn't understand. The jury also seemed to understand. Michael Cohen went to prison for one of those underlying crimes that elevated the misdemeanors to felonies.

Maybe it seems that way inside the Trump cult where millions of people believe that Trump was one of the greatest presidents in our history. In reality, Trump's felony convictions and his criminal associations are just the latest in the long list of reasons that Trump should lose to Biden.
