QuoteJoe Biden's presidential campaign announced the co-chairs of his vice presidential vetting committee Thursday. They are former Senator Chris Dodd, of Connecticut, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti; and Biden's former White House and Senate counsel, Cynthia Hogan. Biden has stated that he would choose a woman to be his running mate, and these four co-chairs, along with former White House Counsel Bob Bauer, campaign General Counsel Dana Remus and former Homeland Security Adviser Lisa Monaco, who will be leading the vetting teams, will be carrying out the selection process. Bauer, Remus and Monaco will be providing Biden with background and information on the candidates, according to the campaign.

I so admire all these women. I once shook hands with Kamala Harris when she spoke at a nurse's convention.
I met Karen Bass LONG ago when I was a young LVN working registry and she was an even younger BSN charge nurse. I sort of followed her career through the local "Nursing Grapevine" as she became a physicians assistant, and then teaching future PAs at USC. Later we both worked to save the big beautiful Library in Downtown LA. After being elected to state government she helped us achieve ratio legislation, along with Sheila Kuehl and Jackie Spier. Nurses have worked on her campaigns.
The most fun was the year some of us nurses joined her in the yearly Kingdom Day Martin Luther King parade. She introduced me to an elder in her church, who is blind. He said he wanted to walk with a nurse. I asked him what he wanted me to do and he said, "Don't let me step in a hole."
Along the parade rout he said he needed a bathroom so we walked to a porta-potty on the sidewalk and waited for him. When he came out the parade had stopped. Stevie Wonder was in a convertible waving. Elder S****** said, "Take me to him." I did and helped them find each other's hand. Stevie asked my name and I thanked him for the joy his songs give so many of us. I never thought I would get to meet Stevie Wonder!
I will be comfortable with any of them and hope to have her as our Vice President.

Pleased with Kamala Harris as VP as strong candidate. SO much work needs to be done over the next year to get US back on track as WE THE PEOPLE pulling together.

Glad he chose Kamala Harris. There has been an e-war to slander her and I kept wondering why? She must be a threat to some people and they don't need/want Biden to choose her. Welp, he did.
This shall get interesting. Imagine what "mother" has to say about Pence debating Harris.
Joe Biden will be remembered as elevating the profiles of TEN WOMEN in government service. Expect to see many of them in the Biden administration --their writings, votes, presence on news/talk shows all spoke eloquently about their concerns about the US and actions they've taken/will take to support constituents and improve US healthcare.

From my perspective watching Senate hearings, TV appearances and reading proposed legislation: Defends the constitution. Loves this country. Ready to lead on day 1.
