I was the same way until I took it a few weeks ago. It's really not that bad. They test you in 4 sections, English, Reading, Science and Math. Order the book, it will help you get an idea of what type of questions will be asked. For the most part it is common sense or things you have already learned (grammar, sentence structure)..the only thing I recommend brushing up on is Math, you will be asked questions with metric convetrsions, algebra and fractions. Most people in my group did not complete the Math section in the allowed time. If you have any more questions feel free to send me a message. Good luck.
Thanx for your help. I feel better know!! i'll order the study guide asap!

I took it a few weeks ago and though I did very well, I would also recommend brushing up on physical and chemical science, as well as scientific reasoning. Math & Science are my fav subjects and I have had 2 semesters of university Physcis w/ calculus plus 2 semesters of college chemistry...yet my science portion of the test was my lowest score earned.
I was surprised to learn the national average on the science portion of the test is a 64.4% and I think it's because they throw a potpourri of questions from physical, chemical, life science, human body science, ecology and earth science. I felt that many of the questions were on things I learned in 7-11th grade back in the mid 1980's... like I remember that stuff?! LOL
You should be ok if you get the study guide to prepare.
Good Luck!

I will be taking the TEAS exam on Jan 13th. I bought thier study guide at a book store. Its a great pre test guide. You can also check out their website. http://www.atitesting.com. My frustration is that 2 of the schools that I am applying to require this exam , but I have to take it 2x because the 2nd school hasnt decided what to do about it!!! I wouldnt mind, but its time consuming and costly!!! Good luck!!!!

Hey,
I also have to take the TEAS exam for ISU's LPN- BSN program. I bought the study guide also, but haven't had time to review it yet. I also have to find some place that is willing to proctor the exam for me. Let me know how the exam was if you take it before I do.
Thanks,
Robert

is this a test where getting through all questions of a section is best or is best to make sure you take your time and get the ones you can do right?

If it is the same as the LPN teas (and I did it correctly) I think it is best to answer as many as you can. The only one I ran a little short on was math and at the end I just started filling in circles randomly. I scored well and got into the program. Hopefully someone will write in if I am wrong.

Hello all,
I'm also taking the TEAS test in February. Im currently enrolled in College Algebra, which is helping a lot with the math portion. I'm also taking the practice test online through their website. Is it necessary to buy the study guide? I'm trying to save as much $ as possible. These 150 dollar textbooks are killing my pocketbook. Thanks.

I didn't get to study for it...I only found out it was a new requirement a few days before the deadline to take it. I was a nervous wreck because of it but fortunately I didn't do horribly. It is a lot of things already in our knowledge base. I only struggled on math because I haven't had any math courses lately and I forgot so much, so it would've been helpful to brush up on that. I wouldn't worry too much..you should do fine.

This is the test that I have to take to get into the LPN program. Testing begins next month, and I bought the study guide. I am worried about the science portion the most because it seems like the questions can come from a wide variety of sciences, and that it isn't specific to anatomy and physiology. I am also concentrating on math, as well, but I still think that I will bomb science because I've never taken physics, chemistry, earth science, or anatomy.

Can anyone suggest a realy good study guide for the teas test. I will not be taking the test till next year but i would like to get a head start or at least look through it. Should i use more than one study guide? What do you all think?
