The Spring '05 Anatomy & Physiology Club: A&P 2

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi all! Just thought I'd go ahead and start this. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or whatever you celebrate!) I'm very much enjoying my family time right now.

Spring semester starts January 5th for me, and I'll be taking A&P 2 and College Algebra. Hope to see lots of you posting here like last semester :)

I did the same route...I am done with all the pre -req's they will allow so I can do nursing alone. But unfortunately they won't let me take 3 classes, micro, pharm, and professional issues. They said I have to take those with the nursing courses...:o But this semester I am taking A&P II and nutrition.

Good luck to everyone!!!

I am taking A&P II and nutrition also. Then if I make the June lottery I only have to do patho with nursing classes. If I don't hit the lottery I will be taking patho during the summer. Then when I start nursing course I will only have those and no coreqs. I also have to take a CNA class in Feb with the red cross and the CNA exam. But the class is only 3 weeks.

Hey all:) I start A&P 2 on the 24th of January. I'm also taking biochemistry lecture and lab. I'm debating whether or not to take microbiology during the summer..OR wait and take it with my nursing classes in the fall. What do you think guys??

My school advised not taking microbiology in the summer because it is too difficult. They also advised this about A&P. I took A&P in the summer and it was horrible. I was not learning, just remembering sort of like a parrot. I finally dropped the class and took it in the fall and loved it.

Based on my experience, I would never take a science class in the summer. By the way I was getting an A when I dropped the class in the summer so it can be done.

I'm taking A&P 2 along with my 2nd quarter clinicals. I actually enjoy A&P, so I'm looking forward to it.

I'm taking A&P 2 also. Classes start on the 5th.

I'm taking AP 2 in the Spring, in the end of January. I did pretty well in AP 1 , and everyone I come across say that AP 2 is easier than AP 1. So I know that it will be a bit less stressful than AP1. The only thing that I'm worried about the Spring semester is having to deal w/ micro and organic chem.

Don't worry Mimine, we will make it thru. I am taking A & P 2, Organic Chem, and a Nursing Research course, but I'm sure with a lot of time management and determination we will do great. I have the same A & P Professor this semester so I know what to focus on for the Spring.

Good Luck!

I had my first A&P 2 class last night. I was so surprised we only have two lecture exam and two lab practical and then the final which is so different than A&P1. The other thing I was suprised by is there is a lot of new faces in class only a few people that were in A&P1 are in this class. Just wondering how everyone was feeling about starting up again? Did you have any surprises on your first day back?

Today was my first day of lecture and it was a complete waste of time. I suspect tomorrow's lab will be also. We spent the entire hour going over Web CT and the syllabus which is basically identical to last semester. Anyway, I am glad to be back in the swing of things and getting on a schedule again. I'm looking forward to this semester :)

I didn't get the lab instructor that I was hoping for (the same one I had for A&P1) but the one I got seems nice. I've heard her quizzes/tests/reports are more difficult and she doesn't give as many extra credit opportunities. Bummer. I'm not too worried about it - I wound up with an A in lab last semester even before the extra credit was added in - but it's nice to have that extra credit buffer KWIM? I could have BOMBED the last test and still had an A, and I liked that LOL! Anyway, we started the endocrine system in lecture and are dissecting the cow's eye this coming Thursday. Yum! Has anyone else started yet?

I'll be working as a lab assistant for A&P II this semester and we start next week. Time to review!! LOL

IT's nice to see some activity in this thread :) Has everyone started classes now? I know some are starting this week...hopefully that will get things going in here. We have off tomorrow for MLK day. The kids and I are going bowling! It'll be nice. I'm enjoying the semester so far and I'm not stressed at all...yet!! LOL We dissected the cow's eye Thursday - not too bad. This coming Thursday we're doing a sheep's brain and continuing on the cat we started last semester. It looks like we either have a quiz or a dissection or BOTH every week of lab this semester! YIKES! I am looking forward to it though. :)
