And guess what? There are people here who can and will help!
Find out if you will have access to the formulas for exams. My book had them printed on the inside covers, and the prof allowed us to use those and a calculator (on which you could do the basic stuff-mean, median, mode, Standard Deviation). That made things quite bearable.
One tip: DO the exercises in the book.
I am taking Stats this Fall...in a week. (ahh!) I'll be your I hate math buddy. Im gonna try and get a tutor. Mine is online so I kinda have to self teach. I can do anything with the help of my book but I suck at tests. My exams are always closed book, with a small note page allowed... so that makes it hard. Let me know how its going

To enable you to read a research paper and have a clue as to whether the study is 'significant' or not. At least, you'll understand how the authors set up the statistical analysis, if it makes sense, and stuff like that. And it gets you at least thinking about how research is done. Who knows, you might decide to do research someday.
That's why.
I'm more of a math love/hate® but can I still join? I start stats on the 29th as well. I hear it's a different animal from regular math... we'll see

Yes! Joim us, maybe since you do not hate math all the way you will be a big support, when all of us want to drop dead from math you can tell us "Its not that bad!" even though we might not believe you :rotfl:

I am starting my stats class on the 29 my very last math course I will ever have to take!
Math is my worst subject. I can never get anything over a 'B'. I was thinking that if there was any others in here taking stats and dreading it we could help eachother out when we get stuck or just have some one to gripe to! :roll
