Seeing the "my arm touched the wall" thread made me laugh and think about the crazy notes I've received from teachers regarding students.
Quick disclaimer: I enjoy everyone I work with and this is not to bash teachers. They are definitely on the front lines and I respect that. I just am sometimes amazed at the magical powers they think I have.
My favorites so far:
"She has rosy cheeks"
"Unsure if it's blood or marker on his hand"
"It's cold outside" (student was in shorts...and completely comfortable in them)
I have decided that my office is the garbage can of the school. Don't want to deal with it, don't know how to deal with it - I know, send to the nurse!!!!

I had one for a pimple today. I just looked at her and said she's fine, get used to it. Went back to class, smiling because I played it off as I was just playing around with her but I am seriously amazed that they will send her for a pimple. It's normal for pre-pubescent kids!
Is the pimple like Dr Pimple Popper big? Because that stuff is amazing
Gross. I could never watch those. I can deal with vomit, blood, wounds down to the bone (one of my favorite things to do is wound vacs) but mucus/boogers/pus make me gag. I had to suction a trach the other day at the SNF that I work at PRN and it was terrible.

Have you seen her instgram? It's all run of the mill blackheads with the occasional giant lipoma or cyst. I can't believe people get so excited over plain jane blackheads. I'm all over those cysts though.
My weakness is nails. Nails lifting? Nail removal? Shivers down my spine

I'm with you kidzcare! I can do all those. Wound care is fascinating so long as I don't have to smell it (vapo-rub for the win!) My first and only time to almost pass out while nursing was while I was in nursing school watching a sedated guy buck against a trach while the RT suctioned and the wall suction was turning itself off and on, mostly off. I got dizzy, then it got kinda dark, then my hearing all started to run together like I was under water. I had to find a chair to sit in, fast! Those big, thick loogies getting stuck in the clear tubing... BLERGH!
