The Mockery of Nursing

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

Your (and everyone who responded actually) answers to that student were excellent, well-thought-out, and not unkind.

Who doesn't know any nurses, anyway? We're everywhere, fomiting it up in our scrubs.

I had to do a little post stalking. Hygiene Queen, that is probably one of the funniest threads I've read in a long time. Someone has a serious case of Special Snowflake Syndrome. How in the world is she going to make it through nursing school?

She probably won't, but it'll be everyone's fault but her own. She has kids, you know. That means she needs allllllll sorts of accommodations that no one else gets. Because it's not possible that anyone else in school has kids.

Let's just hope she doesn't get pregnant during nursing school and have to miss clinicals. Because, you know, she should be able to miss more clinicals than the school allows because she's pregnant and therefore above the rules.

Hey, my pets are just like four-legged children to me. Does that mean I'll get all sorts of "special accommodations" when I go back for my masters this summer?

Yes. And me, too! I was late for class because my goldfish was choking!

OK, come on. I need a link to see this thread. It must be something else if there were two posts in a row about it.

Seriously???!!! seriously?! You are offending my first amendment rights. I can say anything I want anywhere anytime anyhow{{TOS}} what? what? toss what? whazzat?

Or was it my third amendment? all those soldiers in my house.....

Gee, all I ever hear is those darn Miranda rights, over and over, .....

No, it's your second amendment rights. After you read this stuff you either want to blow your brains out or go postal.

Move her in Jersey. Then go postal. No death sentence. Along with the life sentence

(7 years) you get to wear scrubs in a bar when you go out drinking .

Dear Nursing Student with the Rough Life,

You are correct.

You are in no way responsible for completing your homework with any sort of effort what-so-ever.

You are a completely unique and special individual.

Requirements... are for everyone else... certainly not you.

I, too, will attempt to draw sympathy to my post (to entice people to "help me out") by dropping descriptors of myself that, actually, have absolutely no bearing on my plea.

Let's see...

"Hlp Plzzzz!!! One-eyed balding martyr with 10 kids and a sprained toe needs answers...

So I don't have to do any work.

I have everyone else running for me and I never learned how to communicate on a phone beyond texting.

I don't need to know how to do a live interview."

*(Oooooh! The irony irony irony!!!)*

"Just give me the answers I need..."

And when told to put some effort into it, I'll say...

"I'll just have to rely on myself!!"

...And again, the irony will be lost on me...

*sigh*

I bit. That thread went from zero to completely crazy in only two posts. Usually takes a little bit longer than that.

All I can say is I don't see any need for Fomite Factory scrubs in Miss Katy's future.

I want to be like Hygiene Queen when I grow up.

I'm a quadriplegic and my nursing program said I won't pass if I can't pass my skills tests. Am I being discriminated against?
