Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

p.s. don't bother with your bsn. you'll be in debt forever. sure, everyone knows we're prettier and smarter and know way more about critical thinking but we're broke just like everybody else. :rotfl:

but hot diggity, i bet you can write one finely polished research paper in impeccable apa format!

nothing, but nothing says "professional nurse" like being able to write a research paper. i can't wait until december, when i have my bsn- so that i can be sure that when there's a code or rapid response, i can stop the docs and nurses before they do anything and ask them for the research literature references that support what they're doing in such a time as critical as thus (peepnbiscuitsrn, 2012).

So on the second day of my orientation I told my preceptor I already knew how to do everything so she gave me a full assignment and I just got so overwhelmed and started crying because she was SO MEAN and told her I just couldn't handle it and then I told her that I never wanted to be some bedside nurse anyway and I REALLY want to be in management by the time I get married in six months and then she got upset with me for some reason!

don't forget hipaa.......

my all time personal favorite is some version of:

i ran into a friend while they were visiting family at the hospital where i work.

they told me what was wrong with their family member.

now i know the person's diagnosis, but they're not my patient........

did my friend violate hipaa by telling me?

have i violated hipaa by knowing ?

excuse me! its hippa! you must be a bad nurse your spelling and grammar is awful and you can't even get hippa right.

I know that people really want to know if they will be cut out for a job or even like it for the long haul. I get this. I researched my choice for over 2 years before taking the plunge, but when I would see these titles I always wanted to respond with "The Magic 8 Ball says Not right now.". Lol

LOL. I had this Magic 8 ball I got from Archie McFee, and when you asked it a question and shook it, it would give you a smart-alec answer. Unfortunately, I left it at my previous job. One day a doc asked me a question, and I whipped out the Magic 8 ball and asked it the question. You should have seen the expression on his face.

If I can't be an RN, I'll settle for LPN becuz we never give up our dreamzz. Oh and its like $600 dollars for the exam thatz no fair. I'm new here."\Read the international threads, these are all too real and regular posts. When you attempt to explain Canada is a huge country and you just can't hop over to the next province to get a license without expecting it to cost money, we are destroying their dream and just plain old racists.

All of you Biter Nurses: It not really the pain, its more of the mark that is left behind... NOT COOL! Its hard enough covering scars & tattoos, throw in some bite marks and now you are messing with our livelhood! NO Dudes and No Bite Marks.. thems the rules
