The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Apply for a Scholarship Today!
SOOOOOOO.....after all this time......rejection letter and everything.....I was contacted today by CF telling me if I was still interested in the scholarship and that i needed to submit some documents ( the same i had already submitted) before 5pm today!!!??? I hope i get it this time. The letter still said finalists and alternates, which i don't get it since i was already being considered for it and rejected. Anyone with this same situation????
I got a phone call very similar to that from someone last week. I think they are only calling people that they are prepared to offer it to. I didn't receive word after whether I got it or not, but I called and MC verified that I am getting the funding. I would take it as a very good and promising sign that you are going to get it :)

I hope so. The email was sent only to four people. I could see their email addresses. What is going on? Is it because people are rejecting the scholarships, or could it be that they are not going to meet the class requisites after all and HRSA decided not to give them the scholarship? or maybe some people decided last minute not to go to nursing school? or maybe hrsa got more funding?

I was told on the phone last week that there was extra funding this year. I am assuming some people who got may not have been able to accept it for whatever reason (I know two people in my class of 32 who last minute couldn't do nursing school right now for personal reasons), so that might have opened up some funding too.

I am glad it seems to be working out for you...I know from previous posts, it was a rough road but hope it's going soothly now!
So is the October 7th payout still happening? I was one of the late recipients and never got the initial award email
I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be paid until like Oct 31st...just curious where did hear it was Oct 7th? The email says that the welcome packets will be received no later than Sept 30th and the payment will be deposited in your account on record by the last day of oct.
"The first 4 months of stipend payments and the one-time ORC payment will be deposited in your account on record by the last day of October. ORC stands for Other Reasonable Costs which is an additional payment provided to each NSP participant for other reasonable educational expenses or costs incurred by the student. " --- This is from the email we received... it also says other payments will be made by the 3rd week of each month..
Is it true that HRSA finds jobs for the recipient of the award. My friend was telling me that I will not have a choice as to what hospital to work and that there is a possibility that HRSA will assign me to work in another state different from my home town. How can I check if a hospital is HRSA approved?
I found this website and typed in some of the hospitals I am interested in working at but the hospital information did not appear. I wonder if these hospitals in California list on there website is the only hospital qualified for HRSA approval. Does anyone know if UCLA medical center is considered approved by HRSA

Absolutly not! HRSA does not find you a job, you need to find your own. The way it works is they have a list of approved facilities and you are free to work at any of them in the country. Also, there may be approved jobs with community health companies and such that are not actually on their "list", but you can submit for approval. I live in Arizona and EVERY SINGLE hospital is an approved facility, so I can even work at Mayo or Phoenix Children's Hospital. It's not like they send you off to work in a rural community, or in the slums or anything like that.

Call your HRSA rep because they will refer you to their lady who handles the site approvals. She will send you an EXCEL spreadsheet for your area. And no, the page you are talking about is not the correct one to use for the NSP. Our facilities are totally different from that one!

Looks like they haven't sent out webinar invitations because they're still awarding people scholarships, congrats to all of us! Seems like the few people that posted that they didn't get it, ended getting it after all so yay!
