Where to go...
My husband and I have always loved Florida. We have family all over the states and spend a lot of time there. I have been an RN for 14 months. I have a year exp in SNF/Rehab/LTC. We are looking for a good area for us to settle in to. We are looking to move just after the first of the year as I am on a travel assignment the ends the end of December. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions of areas that may be good for me to look into? We are origionally from TN so looking for a medium size area with good opportunities for nurses. Cost of living is also something we would like info about. Thanks

What Do I Pack?!?
So I am heading out on my first travel assignment in a few days. Its in a small town in Nebraska. Housing is hard to find there so I have agreed to stay in a nice hotel for the first 5-7 days so that I can look around for housing. My husband and puppy are tagging along. I have no idea what to pack. Any ideas? Anyone have a similiar situation? We decided to dry instead of fly due to the dog and it will give us more room for our things.

FIRST travel assignment...afraid I have been low balled!!!
I am a nurse with 18 months experience. I have taking a position on a rehab unit in Nebraska. My take home pay is $1200 that does not include housing which they are taking care of as well as our rental car.

Really need some advice...
I got the job :) It is certainly not the pay that I make in LTC but the benefits are really great so I start in one week.

Really need some advice...
Thanks so much for your response. I was getting so discouraged because my applications were not even being considered but I got the chance to speak with a recruiter for a hospital about 30min away this morning. She seemed very interested and I am going to meet her Monday morning :)

Really need some advice...
I worked on a Cardiac PCU/Tele (night shift) for alittle over 6 months directly after graduating. It was at a hospital that did not offer good pay or benefits. I was offered a position at a SNF facility with a much higher pay rate on day shift closer to home. I have always wanted to work as a travel nurse but really need to get back into the hospital to do that. I have applied at three hospitals within 45 min of my home and my application has not been considered. I am applying for med/surg positions. I feel like I am not stuck in SNF/LTC... What can I do to get back in the hospital....

Need Help With First Offer
I have actually done a lot of research but am very nervous as I am sure many first time travelers are. I thought the best advice would come from those who have been in my shoes before. I appreciate all your information.

Need Help With First Offer
I have received my first offer as a travel nurse. Its a 13 wk med-surg position in Casper, WY. The offer was so confusing but basically its that I will get an $800 travel allowance and $230 wk for a car rental. Then I will receive $1150 per week (this includes all wages/housing stiped etc). So I would have to find my own housing but she said they could give me a list of apts and other housing options I could call about. Just wanted to get an idea as to if this is a good contract offer since I am new to all of this. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

RTG Medical Travel
I am new to traveling and have spoken to several companies in the past week. I really like the recruiter that called from RTG Medical. Has anyone worked with them in the past that can give me some insight into your experience?

LTC Travel RN
Does anyone know of any LTC travel positions for RNs? I have 7 months Cardiac PCU experience and 6 months LTC (RN Manager/Staff Development) experience. My husband and I would love the opportunity to travel but I cannot seem to find many companies that have LTC opportunities. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Johnson City Medical - JCMC
I am new to this site so I do not yet have the option to PM. I am interview for 2 positions in the ICU/PCU at Johnson City Medical Center as well as an ICU position at Franklin Woods. I am so nervous about the interview process. Was your transition into the hospital easy? How do you like living in Johnson City?
