The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Hmmm...I called a coulpe of weeks ago and they told me it wouldn't be open until January. I signed up to be notified by email.
I was wondering...I know you have to have an EFC of 0, but I'm on unemployment right now. Would that make make my EFC more than 0? If anyone knows the answer, I thank you in advance. :)

Usually goes off of last year's income taxes/ earnings. I know there are special circumstances though that they would consider. Check w/ your financial aid office. Have you tried filling out the FAFSA to see?
Hey everyone, quick question!!! Im trying to figure out how this modification of profile fits into if you have won or not.... or it it relates to your analyst making a change.
Anyone who has KH as their analyst, are you able to still modify the profile? When I log on, I can change everything in the "modify your profile" tab except my social security number. That is in grey. However, when I hit the save and continue button, the page just refreshes and does not go anywhere....
If I go into the application part, it is all in grey so I cant change it.
Anyone else with similar experience?
I got all the emails and had my credit pulled, submitted banking and contract information but have received no phone calls what-so-ever? Still trying to be hopeful I guess.

Yeah I've had all that and no calls either. But I don't really worry about that because I know for sure that my school emailed VJ the form back because they cc'd me and that my analyst would not call my school to verify if my pre-matriculation reqs were met because they were already met when I applied for the scholarship.
If there's nothing to verify then I don't think that they'd need to contact you.
Just keeping the hope alive!
Thanks for responding. I have a few dollars left available in loan money. I was talking about this scholarship that requires you to have an EFC of zero. I don't know if receiving unemployment would cause me not to qualify.
Yes this scholarship does require a ZERO EFC. To find out your EFC you would need to complete the FAFSA.

Like someone else said, you'll just have to fill out a FAFSA to be sure. The EFC result depends on how much money you get for unemployment, any other income, family size, etc. It basically goes off of last year's taxes.

I can still change mine...is yours in gray to where it won't let you type anything in the box or will it just not save the changes?
