The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Apply for a Scholarship Today!
Hey, everyone!I've just read about 50 pages of this thread and now I'm more stressed than ever! And I'm not the one who applied for the scholarship! LOL! My girlfriend left for a cruise today with some of her nursing school friends and I have been put on "email/snail-mail" high alert. I haven't seen anything come through yet, and I've just about worn out the refresh keys on my computer. I hope today is the day, because I'm not sure if I can take much more of this stress!!! I can only imagine how you guys must feel!

Good luck to everyone and I hope notifications come out soon!

That is sooo kind of you to check for her. We aren't really this crazy all the time (just most of the time LOL. But thanks for the post now we can see what we are putting our poor families through from an outsiders perspective.
Yes, she said the supervisor told them not to send it in an email anymore and that they had to turn them in so apparantly there is a group working on getting the letters together and sending them out this week by snail mail.
jcara... they had to turn the letters in? to who? I don't know if you know the answer to that question or not. Everything with them is just so all over the place!!! Does that mean that our analysts are actually not the ones sending them out? If they have to turn them in to someone, I wonder if that means there is more review to be done or if the analysts turn in the recipient names to an admin team to send out letters..... I am totally speculating and just throwing ideas out there... probably to try and make myself feel better with waiting. Not so good at that. I feel like I am dancing on pins and needles. My boyfriend keeps teasing me because he wants to know the latest updates from the nursing school techies online. lol. :)
How bad is it that I even tried to find a "how much time does it take to mail from this location to this location" calculator.
You know your a nursing student waiting for a scholarship when........ lol

This thread is a great example of how WE "student" nurses will be great nurses in the field. We have great assessment skills and look at the whole picture while analysing every aspect... We are all paying attention to detail while respecting the confidentiality of the employees at HRSA.... Ha... Can you all tell I am going crazy now..... ha ha:nurse:
I wouldn't be at all surprised if we don't start receiving letters til Thursday or Friday at the earliest. With the gov't, as with most schools and large corporations too, the mail often has to go to a central location to be stamped and sorted and then gets mailed out from there. I've had many govt letters 5that weren't postmarked til 2 or 3 days after the letter was dated. I know on last year's thread they were shocked at how long the letters took to arrive after they were told they were sent out.
I HATE that we're not being notified by email, but nothing I would call official ever said we would be. One analyst was sending out that message but to my knowledge none of the rest of us ever got that message.
That's the joy and sorrow of this board, we all get our hopes raised and dashed on every snippet of info...
I only say all that be3cause I'm in the camp that thinks they really are working hard and trying to do their jobs well, there's just a lot of red tape in any bureaucracy and were lucky we have anything to go on. It really is a life changing amount of help and while the wait is killing me I want it done right.
Sorry for any typos, trying to send this on my phone on my way back from my minivacation that it seems I spent half of checking this board the nsp login and my email ;-}
This is really annoying, I need to clear my bill by the 28th, or I'll be charged a late fee. Ugh...Anyway hopefully they'll send the letters out tonight.
An email from another person waiting...
I called today & the man I spoke with said they are being sent out today. He said to expect them by the end of the week/beginning of next week.
okay, to go back to what i said earlier, i called cf. She said that a team was working on getting the letters out. there is no more review. they turned them in and letters are going out this week. she did sound cheerful and sorry for the change in plan. i also agree they are working hard. i did apologize to her if i was bothering her. she seemed nice and understood why i would be calling. She said none has gone out today but will be going out this week. So lets hope for thursday or friday, Monday at the latest:doh:
on that note, i hope all of you have a pleasant day, go out and enjoy yourselves. i will be at the boston red Sox game, sorry if u r not a fan, good luck and lets get some sleep tonight because we do have some waiting to do still

Yes, I was born an army bratt, became a soldier, got out and married a soldier... LOL, so I guess u can call that military. Yes the fiscal year changes in Oct. I think if they said they will get them out around the 23rd, I think they will try to get them out by the 23rd. BUT if last friday they changed to snail mail and they have 500 letters to get out... we might not find out til later this week. I think they are doing their best! I really do not think we will have to wait til the end of september.... We wont get our money til October, because I bet the funds are not "officially" available til the fiscal year change. Just remember guys, 500 out of 700 is pretty good odds...

They are all in the same office!
