The HRSA Nursing Scholarship: Financial Support for Underserved Care
That was a requirement for last year (the banking info) and they did not update the website. Nor did they update the date of notification on the nsp website, but it is correct on the HRSA page. I called before sending in my app and all 4 diff people I spoke to said "do not send banking info" it also said not to send it in the application packet. I called today to check on the credit report requirements- nervous about stuff from 20 years ago but she said it was fine. Again asked her about the date of notification and she said end of July. She said they are not given a count of how many have applied, they are just there to answer questions about the scholarship and they can't see where we stand in the processing of applications nor how many people have applied. So I would ignore the "thousands" it is highly doubtful, especially seeing that we had to jump through hoops this year and in previous years it was a very simple process.

Just an FYI for those who were saying we wouldn't find out in July "Applicants selected to receive the scholarship are notified by postal letter no later than the end of July." http://www.hrsa.gov/loanscholarships/scholarships/Nursing/ I am not finding anything that says they will notify via email this year, has anyone else? It was a real problem for people last year, stressing out over missing the email and the deadline

The HRSA Nursing Scholarship: Financial Support for Underserved Care
I applied in the two years previous (didnt get it) but we did not have to do essays or letters of rec. This was new this year. Anxiously awaiting. I qualified both years but since they didn't give out many I wasn't chosen. Qualify again this year, keeping my fingers crossed!!!! Last year people were locked out of their NSP account as soon as they were selected. Dont know if they will do that this year or not. They also notified on the very last day of the deadline for notifications. I remember reading we would hear if we got it by the end of July. If we didn't get it we will not be notified until October. Had a first class envelope in the mail yesterday and almost passed out thinking it was a notification, but alas, it was just my renewed passport. Keep watching your email :) They didn't have long to respond via fax once they received the email (I think it was 24 hours or maybe just a tad more). They will also notifiy alternates at the same time. Good luck everyone!!

The HRSA Nursing Scholarship: Financial Support for Underserved Care
last year when someone got locked out of their account, they got an email shortly after saying they got the scholarship. Be aware they contact you by email and check your spam, there is a time limit for responding, i think something like 24 or 48 hours. It will say in the email as well as give directions on how to respond (I think it was by fax last year). Last year they did not require the essays. IMHO they are requiring them this year because there are so many more scholarships to give out than in years past and probably thought more people would apply so would need a way to weed out applicants. But thats just MHO. I also read somewhere we would be notified prior to July 31 but only IF we get the scholarship. Sept 30 if you have been denied. Last year i was notified in October that I was denied So hard to wait and hope that long! Keeping my fingers crossed......

Nazareth College
There is no wait list at Nazareth, they accept anyone who meets their requirements. I am there now, the only complaint I have is that it is very hard to get into the classes you need to take to graduate, but thats because I am a non-traditional transfer student. If you start as a freshmen they block schedule you to make sure you get all of your courses. I like Nazareth a lot. The staff is very helpful and encouraging and so far all of my professors (in and out of the nursing program) have been top notch. Summer courses are a huge bonus. St. John fisher has them too. I am told the Nazareth nursing program can qualify for premed in some places- thats what one of my classmates is doing. But I don't know the specifics.

I am pretty sure they say "not a guarantee" because after your acceptance there are steps like credit checks and verifying school records/acceptance that need to be done, so it just covers them if for some reason they have to deny you.

NLN Foundations of Nursing challenge exam
Aww, thanks! I ended up buying a new Nursing Practice book and looked up all the answers I needed. It was a good refresher too, and something I can continue to use in my BSN program. Thanks for responding though! Wish me luck, I take the test this week!

09-10 hrsa nursing scholarship
I was looking on the last year thread for the HRSA 08-09 scholarship and it looks like people were notified until late September. I am hoping this is what they will do this year, since I didn't get a letter (even checked my spam 100 times!) and when I saw some people did get acceptance letters I wanted to cry! I was so bummed. This thread gives me hope! I hope it does for those that didn't get anything yet..... https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/hrsa-08-09-a-317865-page27.html
