The 2nd grades pet hamster is on the loose. I have had two students stop down to see if I've spotted him. This should be good...
So, when my brother was little he had this psychotic, evil hamster. Said hamster would hiss and attack if you tried to go anywhere near him. It also ate through a plastic tube and then chewed through the duct tape and screen used to repair the tube. This diabolical hamster was no where to be found. We looked for months, fearing for our fingers every time we reached under the couch. Fast forward 6 months, my mom is in the basement doing laundry and lets out a shriek. We come running and find her holding the run-away hamster. His cheeks were filled with dog food (we didn't have a dog, nor did any of our immediate neighbors) and noodles. He had a complete change in behavior as well. From that point on, he was the sweetest hamster ever!Hope your run-away is found or that the teacher at least came up with a good story for the kiddos about where he went!
Am I the only one who *really* wants to know what this guy was up to? And what he saw and/or experienced that made him realize being a pet is the good life, and he really appreciates his human caretakers?
For those who may not have been introduced to the Hampster dance way back when, I did a little search, and got these two links. May they now be earworms unto you as they were to me and as they are now to me.
I retired last Friday. S'pose I have too much time on my hands now?

I guess Hammy Dufresne never made his escape with Morgan Freeman...
