I am not sure if there is any other thread similar to this one but I am just curious what is the most expensive, silly and /or least expensive gifts/ freebies you ever received from your hospital??
The most expensive gifts I ever got for my hospital is a bag with the hospital logo on it and the least expensive is those plastic fruits....they were just promoting health and well ness....I just wished they would give us lots of pen!!!
I just got a $100 watch that is very nice for my 15th year. I've got a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant before. Lots of little stuff like umbrellas, t-shits, lunch packs, on and on and on.
I don't expect much because they provide me with a paycheck, tuition reimbursement, vacation pay (with a cash out option that I've taken the last few years, cashing in 100 hours for full pay) and many other "expensive things" so I'm not going to whine about their cheap gifts.
they want to know how much of your check each week in the next year you are going to donate to the hospital. I said *** is that!!!!
The only places I'd expect to even consider something like this would be something like a Shriner's hospital or St. Jude's. Otherwise, you gotta be kidding me...
My husband used to get $500 bonus checks for Christmas from his company, while I received $15.00 gift certificates to a local grocery store. On the other hand, his company didn't pay him squat the rest of the year, while I got decent wages and regular raises. Guess you can't have it all, eh?

The last hospital I worked at treated its nurses great (hence it is the only magnet hospital in it's region), so they were always having meals catered for the employees, like BBQ, FUddruckers, as well as elaborate holiday meals with chocolate fountains, etc. The best gift I got was actually from the group of neonatologists in our NICU. They gave every nurse, tech, secretary, RT and speech/PT/OT/Dietitian a $100 gift card to a really upscale spa. The worst gift was at my present job. We got a cheap red plastic visor and frisbee with the hospital logo on it. This is at a multi-million dollar nationally renowned hospital in NYC. The last hospital I worked at was a midlevel 450 bed regional hospital.
