The dreaded panty line.......

Nursing Students General Students

I have to wear white pants for clinical and although I haven't purchased them yet, I suspect that since they are white you will probably be able to see through them.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to hide the appearance of your underwear underneath?

I once heard that if you wear nude or tan colored bras/underwear under white it blends in with your skin and is hardly noticeable.

I have also thought about wearing support hose too thinking that if they are white or nude it may make them less noticeable and may help with circulation too.

Let me know if you have any tips.

Maybe I need a more fullfilling life but all this talk about undies is stimulating LOL

OMG how funny on the heart monitor! I love it! I wear french cut and it avoids the issue...I am surprised this topic went on this long!

LOL teeituptom!

Ok, that's it. I'm officially old! I've never even attempted to put on a thong. I'm with the full-on white briefs under white pants.

Now THIS is an awesome thread. I love thongs ... love them, love them, love them. Do I see my fellow students and co-workers (non-thong-wearers) picking their underwear out of their butts? Why, yes, I do! And it's way more distracting than my nude thong! Yes, if it was a thong with ruffles or polka-dotted, well sure, it'd be distracting but it's not! Those granny panties with prints or even solid white (hello? do you wear white bras under white shirts? no, no, no!!!) underwear look the worst. If we are forced as students to wear white pants, for heavens sake wear nude or fleshcolored underwear!!!!!! Period!

I want to rant on here but have to go back to work, darn it! ;)

First the disclaimer: I was born with XY chromozomes, It ain't my fault.

I like looking at pretty women, pretty cars, cool trucks, pretty flowers, lighthouses, .......

Now: Why the big deal about underware?

If you have a nice looking back side, it is going to be looked at, and appreciated. Male or female, it doesn't matter.

If you have a not so nice looking back side, it is going to be looked at, and most likely dismissed. (or flamed)

It really won't make a difference what is covering it, or not covering it, as the case may be.

Those who are into that sort of thing are going to mentally undress you anyway, and those that aren't into it are going to go about their lives and leave it alone.

If you are wearing white pants, with red lips on your underware, you may get noticed, and laughed at, but if you are just a little careful, there should be little worry about what underware you have on.

Think about it. It's undreware, for crying out loud. If you are worried about it, make sure you buy clothes (pants, dresses, and skirts) that it definately won't be seen under.

I got it this time, - left out, right in. ;)

Yep, very true. Those who are going to check you out are going to check you out no matter what you are wearing under your scrubs. Remember, there are people in this world who get turned on by all kinds of things. Even if we WERE required to come in with greasy hair, no makeup and mismatched scrubs, some patients' heart monitors would go a-tizzy over that, too.

Really, think about it. We're wearing SCRUBS. Not the most sexy outfit in the world. If we follow this logic to the extreme, we'll be dressing like the women in Afghanistan...and I daresay that probably turns on some men too. What are ya gonna do?

The fact of the matter is that the problem lies with the dirty old men who are checking out their nurses' butts and making comments...not with what the nurses wear as underwear! Why should we have to have our underwear legislated just because some men can't get their heads out of the gutter? Really, now! Are we going to stand by and be blamed again...are we "asking for it" by wearing thongs? I think not!

:(

(Just for the record, I know this can go the other way too...dirty old women making passes at male nurses and other healthcare professionals...)

And yes, I admit that when it comes to George Clooney & Brad Pitt sitting together in suits and sunglasses at a sidewalk cafe [see picture at left!], I too become a dirty old woman!! HA HA HA :chuckle

(If I saw them in person I would refrain from making lewd comments...although I might need an antiarrhythmic...)

But - just to show the absurdity - if I *were* to make a lewd comment at George and Brad and have dysrhythmias, would that mean they should be banned from wearing suits and sunglasses in public???

My preference has always been for the nude look.

Alas others looking at my body is not a problem I have.

Our dress code at work actually says " Undergarments must be of correct size" I asked our manager who checks this, and they did not see the humor in my question!! And I wonder what the punishment is if the undergarments are of Incorrect size???

To bad they didn't see the humor, I sure did! If I was standing near you when you asked, I would have PMP!!:roll
