skipping class, a hard habit to break
Geek city here too. The only time I miss is when my kiddo's are to sick, then I call the prof and let them know! I figure I paid WAY to much for this class.... my butt is there. We also had a prof that would all of a sudden give extra "free" points when you would show (eg: if only a few showed up that day). All those points add up. In my classes, most have some sort of attendance rule, like if you miss 2-3 days you drop a letter grade, ect... If you miss to much they drop you, or give an inc. on your transcript. In nursing clinicals, NONE are allowed to be missed for any reason...

The dreaded panty line.......
I dunno either, our school uses BLUE, thank goodness! The only prob w/ a thong is if the pants are TOO See through then it might be better to wear granny panties! Have your DH, sig other, or friend tell you if they can see through them BEFORE you go begin.

Any advice for newRNstudent
Even through out allllllllllllllllllll the MANYYYYYY hours of studying, find a small piece of your day for yourself. One thing I noticed when taking A&P was even when I slept I couldn't get my brain to TURN OFFFF! I was dreaming muscles, nerves, insertion points ect! I found that at least the last ten min's of my day a bit of mozart or bach with a candle buring and a book helped my brain to "reset" so I was able to sleep! I cant emphasize enough to STUDY STUDY STUDY. You might as well apologise to your family and friends now, you'll see them again at the end of the semester! I know for me, I never did anything but maybe eat out ONCE on the weekends while my DH brought the boys hunting, fishing, four wheeling ect. When finals were over this last semester, my youngest who is 7 said he was SOOOOO glad that NOW I could spend time with him. HURT.... but I know in the end it will be worth it all. Just give him a month of me always there and he'll be beggin for me to go back!! LOL

Know any lactation consultants? Have questions...
My first born was 6 weeks early and had NO sucking reflex. A MAJOR PAIN. I remember one nurse tubing him because she didnt want to spend the time coaxing him to suck. Once I found out I learned her shift and would be up there the entire time. YES, he was a difficult one to teach how to suck, but we did it. I also remember being a brand new mom and trying to learn how to breastfeed a baby that didnt want to suck. I thought breastfeeding was supposed to be NATURAL...painless... easy. not so for me. We perservered and made it, he is now a healthy 10 yr old and I breast feed both of our children. I know it would have helped me tremendously if we had been given more help. I think the pt survey would be a great idea!
