Ours was a bone sitting on a table, you COULD NOT TOUCH it, and a blank line on your sheet. Where ever the arrow pointed on the bone is what you were to answer. For the cadaver, we had pins, again, no touching.... Same with the slides. Or question...

I always found brainstorming first made a difference. Write out everything you can think of that went a long w/ your topic, arrange it in the order of how you want to see in the paper... then type. Review your work... fix what you dont like... ect....
