The CPNE is going up to $1900

Holy smokes! As if it wasn't high already! Also all the exams are going up on July 1st. I will pay for Information Literacy because I can't stand to pay a dime more.

Another NC nurse here...very seriously, thanx for this info! been looking also @ UNCW and CFCC. this just may help me make up my mind.

Good Luck on getting in. The reason why I chose EC was because of the ridiculous waiting list at some of these schools.

Now you have the ridiculous wait for the CPNE. You could still get done a little sooner or about the same time you would have with a traditional school though.

Yeah, looking at their site, it looks close to $50K easy. I guess $8K is not bad at a community college. The only way I'd do on-lne would be state supported schools, and esp not a commercial site from NY! The NY gatekeepers seem like they have this forum section locked up.

Guess I'll have to look elsewhere for the state on-line alternatives. Good luck!

Thanks for the FYI.. I had no idea!!!!!!!! I guess I have to do some math and figure out if the interest on my credit card is better than the increase per class... I need a drink...

Oh my... kinda makes me more determined to pass it the first time around.

I'm confused?? What cost 50K. EC way cheaper than that.

I was wondering the same thing! I spent nowhere near $50K.

What may I ask did you spend?

what may i ask did you spend?

total for ec

application fee=$75

enrollment fee=$895

yearly enrollement fee=$495

8 exams for $205 each=$1640

cpne=$1825

info literacy and microbiology=$472

practice test for all exams=$540

books and supplies on ebay=$500-$800(lost count)

grand total=$6747

without workshop cost, and travel & hotel expense to the cpne(workshops are optional)

so i may spend $8000 by the time i finish.

plus i'm going to a workshop that cost $400. but i have resold most of my book and have recouped $330 of the nearly $800 that i have spent.

also i had all my perquisites except for microbiology and information literacy taken from previous college experience. so it could be a little higher if you have to take everything in the nursing curriculum.

hope this helps! ec is so much cheaper for me vs traditional school. with the price of gas,it would cost me that alone plus the fact that i could not work fulltime.
