If you caught The View yesterday, you saw Joy Behar ask of Miss Colorado (Miss America contestant) and nurse, "Why does she have a doctor's stethoscope around her neck?"

Michelle Collins is no peach, either. She's the one who initially brought up the monologue in a derogatory way, but Behar is getting most of the heat.

I think that all of them need to find something better to do with their time. Seriously, I don't understand what the point of that show is. Can anyone enlighten me?

Have the women on The View ever encountered a nurse in the healthcare setting? Have they never been to a doctor's office or hospital and seen what nurses do? She has a kid for crying out loud. I'm sure the nurses taking care of her during her labor and delivery were using "doctor's stethoscopes" on her AND her baby.

I wonder when they'll start making medical assistant stethoscopes since I'm POSITIVE the MA that takes my blood pressure at the OBGYN is using a doctor's stethoscope.

You gotta hand it to them though, being able to make quite a comfortable living by mocking and belittling someone else's career choice would have probably won them a Miss America pageant.

You would think they would realize that dissing the people who get to decide the size of their IV and Foley is probably not such a good idea.

What bothers me most is that she is probably representative of what the average citizen thinks of an RN's skill and knowledge.
