Nurses Humor

Published

If you caught The View yesterday, you saw Joy Behar ask of Miss Colorado (Miss America contestant) and nurse, "Why does she have a doctor's stethoscope around her neck?"

Our friends at Gomer Blog couldn't resist.

I wanted to shake Raven. I have zero respect for her after all of this.

I don't know, the other day I made a rather flippant comment that Raven may just have resting b**** face, and after watching that clip, I think that is the case.

She was sitting quietly, I didn't see any eye-rolling, sighing, etc. She did do a few slight head nods in agreement, I'm thinking the weight of her hair makes her hold her head immobile, so she doesn't tip over?

Joy Behar actually acquitted herself well. That apology was more natural than the one from the day before.

I didn't see the whole show (I generally only see bits and pieces in patient rooms anyway), but what I wondered was, where was Whoopi Goldberg?

Does this absolve them from making stupid comments? No. But they ALWAYS make stupid comments, this one simply struck a nerve with a very large group. Should they be fired? Again, no. They're doing what they are paid to do. When people get tired of them and stop watching, the show will be cancelled.

I for one am getting weary of all the "sturm und drang" about this. I'm starting to skip right over the threads pertaining to it. They're sounding too "social media".

I thought the reaction to the show was pretty fun for the first few days - loved all the photos and memes related to *pizzing* off nurses.

Glad it brought some attention to nursing.

I too thought Raven-Symone looked like she was sniffing a bad stink . . . .. such a terrible look on her face for the entire clip I watched.

Can't believe that she is that adorably precocious little girl on The Cosby Show.

Yeah but she added nothing & said nothing. Even if she has resting ***** face she could've commented during the segment, but she didn't, she just sat there looking irritated.

Yeah and don't tv shows have directors to tell you when you aren't doing something right for the camera?

Actually, when she opens her mouth, it's usually part of her foot-in-mouth disease, so for me, this was her BEST segment.

Lol. Raven just can't win. She has resting ***** face & foot in mouth disease.

I might be more inclined to agree with your resting b*tch face hypothesis if Ravon Symone had not said the following during the "apology" last Wednesday:

- Don't you feel like we're a little overly sensitive right now?”

- Did they hear the conversation, do they know what you were talking about at all?”

The look on that woman's face on Friday spoke volumes (at least it did to me). As she sat there quiet and disinterested, looked the guests up and down while they spoke/educated about what it is to be a nurse, and then disappeared suddenly when the nurses came on stage....resting b*tch face, no. Her face was filled with ignorance, a false sense of entitlement, and arrogance. The worst part about it is, she probably feels like they did nothing wrong with their "jokes."

We the people: your voice in our government

WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:

Provide Federal legislation for nurse to patient ratios.

Nurses are essential parts of health care day to day operations. We are calling upon Congress and the House of Representatives to provide a bill for Federal Legislation for nurse to patient ratios in hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons. We need safe nurse to patient ratios in order to provide the quality care that our patients deserve. We are looking to collectively have a voice and be heard by our government officials to make a change to how the nursing profession currently practices. A small amount of states in the US have nurse to patient ratios. We would like for all states to have a safe nurse to patient ratio. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

All Nurses of America standing united for a change

Raven didn't say a word, clearly did not think they should be apologising and clearly did not want to be apart of this segment.

I'm proud that our profession came together and spoke with one voice over this. ❤️

it appears that the woman on the right, the black woman, had a defiant posture. Wonder what that was about in that segment. Her body language could mean many things, her lack of applause.... maybe she does not like the nursing profession. I haven't followed this story, know little of The View, so it's not really on my radar, more just passing the time at this moment.

I'm more interested in not boarding INPATIENTS in our emergency departments!!!!! This is the straw that is breaking the camel's back. SCU and intermediate level patients, along with ER patients (mainly waiting in the waiting room, by the way, because all ER beds being held up by admitted patients) is just a disaster and a sentinel event waiting to happen. This is what our healthcare system has turned into. No one can afford healthcare (thanks, Obama), so they are all now forced to go to the ER when they need healthcare, thus collapsing our infrastructure.

OR... rather than sign a petition for Obama about ratios, how about we have FELONY's in ALL states for threats against providers or staff? Where I live, it is not a Felony for assaults against healthcare providers in the ER (or first responders) and it is laughed at by the District Attorney. How about that? It is more viewed that this is expected and we should accept it. That may be ok for the police, because they have GUNS and HANDCUFFS.

You would think they would realize that dissing the people who get to decide the size of their IV and Foley is probably not such a good idea.

I can't stop laughing!!!! Good one!
